Murdoch vs Reed

These guys tore it up in the Mid-South. This is built around punches. Murdoch working the arm. Reed returns the favor and works Murdoch's arm. Murdoch sells a Reed punch big. Bob Orton attacks. This was solid stuff, not a nomination though.

World Wide Wrestling 4/8/89

"Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert & "Dogfaced Gremlin" Rick Steiner vs. Snake Brown & Lee Scott (3/14/89)

Fun squash match as Scott & Snake were so different as wrestlers and gave a fun yin & yang to the babyfaces.

Iron Sheik & "Hacksaw" Butch Reed vs. Cougar Jay & Gary Price (3/14/89)

Reed & Sheiky is an odd team for sure and Mike Rotundo joined Lance Russell for commentary during this match.

Next we get Joe Pedicino Knows.

"Capt. Redneck" Dick Murdoch & Vincent Young vs. Max McGiver & The Raider (3/14/89)

Murdoch & Young were again another odd team..I wish Murdoch would've breakdanced with him.

The Varsity Club then join Lance for a promo next talking about their issues with the Road Warriors.

The Samoan Swat Team (Fatu & Samu) vs. Greg Brown & Bob Emory (3/14/89)

Total squash.

"Total Package" Lex Luger vs. Chance Myers (3/14/89)

Very easy win for Lex.

Paul E. & SST are out for a promo next talking about how they are going to destroy all the other tag teams.

Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat vs. Rip Morgan (3/14/89)

The Steamboat Family comes out in full and Morgan gives Steamer a fight but the NWA Champ is just too much for him.

Then we get another Joe Pedicino Knows.

NWA Pro Wrestling 4/15/89

Shane Douglas vs. Bob Cook (4/3/89)

Shane is back on the syndicated shows and gets a good win over Cook.

Next we get clips of Flair/Steamer at the Clash.

Ric Flair joins Bob Caudle next for a promo talking about getting his final shot at Steamer in Nashville and that he would be getting his belt back.

"Dogfaced Gremlin" Rick Steiner vs. Ebony Assassin (4/3/89)

Steiner just manhandles this guy.

Then we get Joe Pedicino Knows.

Sting vs. Jim Haley (4/3/89)

Sting hops every railing around the ring before the match which was something else as he didn't even blow himself up.

Next we get clips of Teddy Long costing the Roadies the NWA Tag Titles at the Clash.

The Great Muta vs. Cliff Sheets (4/3/89)

Muta is starting to get cheers naturally as he was awesome and he wins in seconds with the Dragon Suplex.

"Total Package" Lex Luger vs. Mike Thor (4/3/89)

Luger gets an easy win and he joins Bob Caudle after the match talking about his feud with Michael Hayes when Michael jumps him. The battle goes into the ring with Hayes planting Luger with a DDT before leaving. Good angle.

The Road Warriors join Caudle next for a promo pissed off about what happened at the Clash and they want their belts back.

Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat vs. Rip Morgan (4/3/89)

Another Steamer/Morgan match here and it's another fun little TV match.

Then we get another Joe Pedicino Knows.

Dick Murdoch joins Bob Caudle next talking about Bob Orton Jr. coming in the area and their issues.

"Capt. Redneck" Dick Murdoch vs. "Hacksaw" Butch Reed (4/3/89)

These guys had some classics in 1985 and this is a good main event to have on a syndicated show in 1989. Teddy Long is still refereeing here and he is definitely showing favortism towards Reed. Of course there are some great punches thrown here by both men but Long becomes a focal point in the match where he is helping Reed subtly. Reed gets control and starts working over Murdoch's left arm but Murdoch would make a quick comeback throwing some more awesome punches. Bob Orton Jr. & Gary Hart would then run out and this became a beatdown. Fun for what it was.
