NWA Pro Wrestling 8/12/89

The New Zealand Militia (Rip Morgan & Jacko Victory) vs. The Dynamic Dudes (Johnny Ace & Shane Douglas) (8/1/89)

Decent match but the Militia would win in the end after smashing Ace in the face with the canteen. This was an injury angle done to explain the Dudes being out of action while they went to All-Japan for a tour.

Next we get a promo from Mike Rotundo about his scientific series with Dr. Death.

Then we get a taped promo from Luger who is so arrogant and great here.

Flyin Brian Pillman vs. Norman the Lunatic (8/1/89)

Interesting match here for TV and these two have a history going back to Stampede. Norman beats down Pillman for a while before missing a running smash into the corner and Pillman slams him then suplexes him as the crowd goes nuts. Pillman kept up the offense but Norman would make a comeback until Pillman got a cradle out of nowhere to win. Teddy Long slapped Norman after the match and he then attacked Pillman hitting a big splash off the middle rope as Long laid the key on Pillman's chest.

Next we get a video on Rick Steiner & Robin Green.

Rick & Scott Steiner vs. The Bounty Hunter & Ron Simmons (8/1/89)

Ron Simmons working as a squash match worker is something and the Steiners win fairly easily after Iron Sheik tells Ron to leave his partner in the ring.

Then we get Joe Pedicino Knows.

The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) vs. Bob Emory & George South (8/1/89)

Roadies destroy these guys as Paul E. cuts an inset promo talking about the SST. LOD then cut a taped promo after the match wanting a cage match with SST.

The Great Muta vs. Alex Porteau (8/1/89)

Sting cuts an inset promo before the match talking about how he should still be the TV champ. Muta then takes out Porteau and looks awesome in the process.

Next we get Joe Pedicino Knows.

Best of 3 Scientific Series: "Dr. Death" Steve Williams vs. "Captain" Mike Rotundo (8/1/89)

Doc is wearing his amateur headgear and everything here. The match is good for what it was and the finish was cute Doc rolled up Rotundo as he was arguing with Tommy Young.

Then we get a promo from Gary Hart about Muta and their issues with Sting.

Next we get highlights of the end of the Bash PPV with a promo from Terry Funk which was great and extra material.

Flyin Brian Pillman & Tommy "Wildfire" Rich vs. Cruel Connection #1 & Ron Simmons (7/31/89)

Here is Ron teaming with a jobber again and Iron Sheik pulls him away leaving his partner to get killed yet again.

Next we get a promo from the Steiners talking about their upcoming match with the Freebirds.

Norman the Lunatic vs. Trent Knight (7/31/89)

Norman totally mauls Knight.

Jim Ross interviews Rick Steiner next about his relationship with Robin Green then this turns into Steiner talking about Garvin & Hayes being sissies which brings out Terry Gordy and Rick said that he doesn't understand why Gordy hangs out with sissies. Gordy said that Rick doesn't understand and then he decks him with Garvin & Hayes joining in until Scotty made the save. Extra material.

Then we get Joe Pedicino Knows with Joe sitting in the crowd with the fans.

The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) vs. The Avalanche & Alex Porteau (7/31/89)

Total squash and Ross talks to the Roadies after the match who again want a cage match with the SST.

Next we get highlights of the end of the Bash PPV with a promo from Terry Funk which was great and extra material.

Then we get Joe Pedicino Knows with the fans again.

Rick & Scott Steiner vs. The Fabulous Freebirds (Jimmy "Jam" Garvin & Michael "PS" Hayes) (7/31/89)

This is a non-title match stemming off the angle from earlier with Rick calling Hayes a sissy and the fans are red hot for the Steiners against the Birds. This was a fine TV match but nothing great or anything and it was a good way to start their feud up. Steiners get a big non-title win as the fans go nuts.

Next we get a promo from Paul E. about the Roadies wanting a cage match with the SST.

Freebirds join Jim Ross next and they are pissed about what just happened and they want another match with the Steiners.
