NWA Pro Wrestling 8/19/89

Sting vs. Frogman LeBlanc (8/1/89)

Sting goes in the crowd and chills with the fans up high in the lower bowl as Gary Hart cuts an inset promo vowing to get rid of him. Sting gets in the ring and wins very easily.

Terry Funk vs. Scott Hall (8/1/89)

This is a bit different from their Amarillo match as the fans hate Funk here and Gary Hart is with Funk at ringside. Funk is a wildman of course and he beats the piss out of Hall but Hall would make a comeback and he worked over Funk's left arm pretty good with Funk selling like crazy. Funk started headbutting Hall many times trying to break free but Hall wouldn't let go of a wristlock. Funk even hit a backdrop suplex and Hall still wouldn't let go. Funk finally took it to the floor and broke free then went back to work on Hall's neck. Funk tried for a piledriver but Hall backdropped him to the apron then hit the Bulldog for a nearfall. Funk then cradled Hall with Funk holding his feet to get a flash pinfall. This was a fun little match and almost a nomination but it falls short.

The Fabulous Freebirds (Jimmy "Jam" Garvin & Michael "PS" Hayes) vs. Bob Emory & Mike Justice (8/1/89)

Birds look good here and all the Birds join Lance next for a promo on the Steiners.

Next we get Joe Pedicino Knows.

Then we get a cool video for The Skyscrapers.

The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) vs. Trent Knight & Ron Simmons (8/1/89)

Iron Sheik pulled Big Ron away from the match again allowing Trent to be punished by the MX.

Best of 3 Series - Match 3: "Captain" Mike Rotundo vs. "Dr. Death" Steve Williams (8/1/89)

This started out as a scientific series and this final match is a No DQ match. This started out fun as both men were taking it to each other and they kept going after each other before it slowed down a little. Doc's bump from the ring the floor hitting the barricade was pretty nuts as he hit hard and fast. Doc would make a comeback and hit the Oklahoma Stampede on Rotundo but as he tried to spear him, Rotundo put Tommy Young in the way. Doc would hit another Stampede but there was no referee then Teddy Long ran out to make the count and raised his hand which was funny. Rotundo then sneaks up on Doc and schoolboys him to win. Cute finish with Teddy Long being involved.

World Wide Wrestling 8/26/89

This starts with Jim Cornette getting the A&W King of the Slams trophy.

The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) vs. Ron Simmons & Tony Suber (8/15/89)

Sheiky comes down to ringside and asks Simmons to leave Suber to get destroyed by the MX and he does.

The Samoan Swat Team (Fatu & Samu) vs. Bob Emory & Mike Justice (8/15/89)

Total squash.

Next we get a video on the Doc/Rotundo series.

Brad Armstrong vs. Trent Knight (8/15/89)

Brad is back in the NWA and gets a good win here.

Then we get Joe Pedicino Knows.

Next we get promos from Ric Flair & Terry Funk for the 8/27 show in New Haven.

Brian Pillman & Sting join Jim Ross next for a promo with Pillman talking about coming for Norman and Sting talking about coming for Funk & Muta. Good stuff.

Tommy "Wildfire" Rich vs. Bill Ford (8/15/89)

Spotlight match for Tommy.

Then we get another Joe Pedicino Knows.

Rick & Scott Steiner vs. The Fabulous Freebirds (Jimmy "Jam" Garvin & Michael "PS" Hayes) (8/15/89)

Gordy has been barred from ringside here but he is gone anyway. Scott looks great early on hitting his Frankensteiner on Hayes but Garvin would pull down the top rope as Scott was running and he tumbled to the floor. Rick would get the tag though and he ran wild on the Birds until they dropped him with a double sidewalk slam. This quickly ends up in a 4-way brawl with the Steiners in full control until Rick hit a belly-to-belly on Garvin who hit Tommy Young in transit. Hayes then goes after Missy Hyatt on the floor but Rick would attack him from behind before missing a Steinerline on the post. Scott would get Garvin in an O'Connor Roll but Hayes would lay him out with a DDT as Tommy Young calls for a DQ. Yet another match between these two teams that is all over the place.

The Great Muta vs. Scott Hall (8/15/89)

Muta starts out strong but Hall comes back although it doesn't last long as Muta is a beast and finishes him with a German Suplex hold. Hart & Muta then cut a promo with Ross afterwards and are joined by Terry Funk talking shit on Flair & Sting.

NWA Pro Wrestling 9/2/89

The Fabulous Freebirds (Jimmy "Jam" Garvin & Michael "PS" Hayes) vs. Bob Emory & Mark Smith (8/14/89)

Another solid win for the Birds.

The Samoan Swat Team (Fatu & Samu) vs. Lee Scott & Tony Suber (8/14/89)

SST love destroying Lee Scott and they do it again here.

The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) vs. Cruel Connection #1 & Trent Knight (8/14/89)

MX are back on TV regularly and take these guys out with ease.

Then we get Joe Pedicino Knows.
