This is super heated. Loving Flair work babyface match. The tease of the chop was so neat. Both guys cutting a good pace. I really like the feel of this. A Figure 4 and the crowd erupts. Brad is a master at selling the leg. It's where the drama is. This was a super fun match that I'll give a low-end nomination to. A little on the short side, but the story was well executed.

NWA Pro Wrestling 9/2/89

This starts with Rick Steiner's date with Robin Green at Zoo Atlanta which was something.

Terry Funk & Gary Hart join Lance Russell next where Funk bashes Jim Ross and goes off about Flair. Extra material.

Flyin Brian Pillman vs. The Bounty Hunter (8/14/89)

Another good TV win for Brian.

Next we get Joe Pedicino Knows.

"Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. Cuban Assassin (8/14/89)

Flair is back wrestling on TV and this era of Flair is so fucking awesome because he was working on TV against really good guys he wouldn't normally work with. Flair gets off to a good start but Sierra takes Flair to the floor where he posts him a couple of times and begins working over Flair's forehead trying to get blood. Flair is now pissed off and comes back hitting some of his signature spots while blood trickles down his face and puts Sierra away with the figure-four. Very fun little match.

Rick & Scott Steiner vs. Bill Ford & Ron Simmons (8/14/89)

You can guess what happens here yep Simmons leaves Ford hanging when Sheiky comes out to get him.

Bob Caudle talks to Brian Pillman & Sting next about their issues with Norman & Muta. Flair then joins Sting & Pillman and this is awesome as he talks about the new generation is running wild.

World Wide Wrestling 9/2/89

The Skyscrapers (Dangerous Danny Spivey & Sid Vicious) vs. The Ding Dongs (Greg Evans & Richard Sartain) (8/15/89)

Boy do the fans hate the Ding Dongs....and this is the official murder of the gimmick as the Skyscrapers DESTROY these guys then unmask them revealing Greg Evans & Richard Sartain. Flair is now head booker and he gets rid of this ridiculous gimmick. This is a slam dunk extra.

Then we get a promo from Tommy Rich about coming for Luger and the US Title.

Terry Funk vs. Lee Scott (8/15/89)

Lee Scott putting on Funk's cowboy hat to start the match was amazing and Funk just destroyed him after that.

Sting vs. The Bounty Hunter (8/15/89)

Sting wins very quickly.

Next we get Joe Pedicino Knows.

Then we get a promo from the Freebirds about their upcoming match against the Steiners.

Next we get another Funk/Hart promo about Flair/Sting with Funk singing the old hymn One Day At A Time.

Rick & Scott Steiner vs. The State Patrol (Buddy Lee Parker & James Earl Wright) (8/15/89)

This is the debut of Robin Green in her Woman attire and the males in the crowd go nuts with Ross ogling hard on commentary. This is the debut of the State Patrol on World Wide and a legendary team is born.

Then we get Joe Pedicino Knows.

Ric Flair then receives the A&W King of the Slams trophy from Bob Caudle.

NWA World Heavyweight Title: "Nature Boy" Ric Flair © vs. Brad Armstrong (8/15/89)

So this one night in Cleveland, Brad Armstrong received shots at both the World & US Heavyweight Titles....not many men ever did that if ever. Brad was always one of Flair's favorites to work with and with Flair booking it made sense for him to spotlight him a little on TV. The action here was so good as both men were going back and forth with wrestling holds and working in some high impact moves as well. Flair hit a chop on Brad that was one of the best he ever threw but Brad came back up firing away with a clothesline. Every time Ric thought he had him Brad would come back but Flair countered a hip toss with a cradle and won the match then shook hands and hugged Brad afterwards. This was on the short side but such a good performance from Flair with Brad holding his own and I'll push this as a low-end pick.

Next we get a promo from Jim Cornette saying that the MX would dominate the 90's like they have the 80's

Flyin Brian Pillman vs. Cruel Connection #1 (8/15/89)

Another easy win for Pillman.

Then we get a promo from the Steiners along with Missy Hyatt & Robin Green and this was something else for sure.

World Wide Wrestling 9/9/89

Sid Vicious vs. Joe Cruz (8/28/89)

Total squash.

Next we get a promo from Terry Funk & Gary Hart about the Clash and they are coming for revenge for Dick Slater's injury.

The Road Warriors vs. Tommy Angel & Bill Ford (8/28/89)

Total destruction.

Then we get Joe Pedicino Knows.

Next we get a promo from Ric Flair & Brian Pillman and I really wished we had more Flair & Pillman stuff together.

Rick & Scott Steiner vs. Agent Steele & Trent Knight (8/28/89)

Steiners totally manhandle these guys.

Then we get Joe Pedicino Knows.

Next we get a promo from Lex Luger about his match with Tommy Rich at the Clash saying that once he threw the rulebook out the window he became the greatest in the world.

"Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. Wild Bill Irwin (8/28/89)

Flair facing random wrestlers on TV at this time was so great and this was yet another really good match. Flair was tremendous working babyface here and Irwin did fine but there wasn't enough for a nomination.

Then we get a promo from the Freebirds talking about how great they are and how they are going to beat the Steiners.

The Fabulous Freebirds (Jimmy "Jam" Garvin & Michael "PS" Hayes) vs. Ricky Nelson & Rusty Riddle (8/28/89)

Easy win for the Birds.
