Posted April 17, 20169 yr comment_5744573 Thought this would be good for some discussion: Tag Team "Gosh, I've said this a lot and my favorite tag team these days is The Briscoe Brothers, Mark and Jay of Ring Of Honor. They're genuine. They're legitimate. They look good. They talk good. They work good. And the people believe in them. They like them. I don't know if I would be a good fit as their manager because I think their natural role, they had a heel run and they were quite good at it, but it just revved them up to turn back babyface again because [it was] one of those deals where they've been on the same pattern for a while [and] needed a shaking up. I have not seen [Jason] Jordan and [Chad] Gable and those guys, but I'm going to soon, so I can't necessarily say them." They're bigoted tools just like him, so no real shock there. I loved Cornette in his prime and still admire his passion and knowledge for wrestling, but he's an absolute embarrassment now in every other way. Enough of my soapbox though. Onto his singles pick... Singles "As a single, one of my favorite guys, I just like to watch him. If I watch WWE, chances are it's because Dolph Ziggler's involved because we had him in OVW. I knew he was a good athlete, [but] I never dreamed he was going to be the second coming of Curt Hennig. Everything he does is flawless. I think all aspiring wrestlers should watch his, not only his technique, but also the way he throws himself into everything. His stuff is spot on. His timing is great. His stuff looks good. I can't find a flaw in his game. I'm a big Dolph Ziggler fan. They don't do jack all with him." Cornette continued, "I'm a big fan of Adam Cole's. I think Adam Cole's a superstar. Jay Lethal, he [has] got Truth Martini, so maybe I couldn't get him, but also young Matt Taven, Mike Bennett. I've always been a fan of theirs. A lot of Ring Of Honor guys." His love for Dolph is a bit of a surprise. Makes me wonder if he's seen any of Dolph lately. I have my doubts, considering his earlier admission about still being unfamiliar with Jordan and Gable. Anyway, I think this would make an interesting discussion on two fronts: 1. To debate who Cornette did pick. 2. Who we think he'd pair up well with if we had to "fantasy book" his managerial comeback. April 17, 20169 yr comment_5744734 The Briscoes are the best act in wrestling so he's right about that. Dolph stinks so he's batting .500
April 17, 20169 yr comment_5744747 Lots of guys in wrestling seems to love Ziggler -- Flair, Nash, Shawn, Cornette, Steamboat. Austin is the only one to really offer up useful critiques of his working style.
April 17, 20169 yr Author comment_5744781 Austin is the only one to really offer up useful critiques of his working style. Michaels too (on the Stone Cold podcast). He essentially said Dolph is a tribute act to various other wrestlers but never evolved beyond that and developed a style of his own.
April 18, 20169 yr comment_5744794 I think it's one of those "wrestlers look for different things than we do" things. Wrestlers would probably be a lot more impressed with his cardio, athletic ability and timing, and crazy and impactful bumping than we are, because they can appreciate how hard it is physically to do. Whereas we're more looking to be entertained.

Majority of smart mark fans.
April 18, 20169 yr Author comment_5744801 Majority of smart mark fans. Don't think you even need to make that distinction anymore. He hasn't really been over with the general wrestling population either since his face run with the punt.
April 19, 20169 yr comment_5745434 I think Cornette would have been a good mouthpiece to put with Dash and Dawson.
April 19, 20169 yr comment_5745905 Cornette would be great with Cesaro (and with Cesaro/Kidd as a team if Kidd were to ever come back).
April 19, 20169 yr comment_5745916 I disagree, look how his career stalled with Heyman. The fans want to cheer Cesaro, not boo him
