Championship Wrestling from Florida 7/11/87

Florida Heavyweight Title: Mike Rotundo © vs. The Barbarian (7/1/87)

This is JIP and what we got was some fun action. I definitely wished we had more Barbarian singles matches. Rotundo getting a flash inside cradle to win was pretty cool then Barbarian destroyed him after the match.

No DQ Match for the Florida Tag Titles: The Sheepherders (Butch Miller & Luke Williams) vs. Mike Graham & Steve Keirn (7/1/87)

Keirn & Graham became a regular tag team again after Stan had to go to JCP to replace Condrey. We get some action with Keirn getting sleepers on both Sheeps before going to commercial quickly. We come back from break with the Sheeps working over Keirn and Gordon said that they have been dominating him for a while so we have a good bit missing. Keirn would finally get the hot tag on Graham who cleaned house then got the figure-four on Luke as Keirn cut off Butch but Ace would throw the flag to Butch who used it on Graham. Keirn broke it up then Graham posted Johnny Ace then Luke. Everyone then dropped to the floor now for a double countout. Graham & Keirn then go to Solie with Graham saying he will keep their flag while Keirn wants to set it on fire.

Blackjack Mulligan & Kevin Sullivan then cut a promo next for the 7/31 Orange Bowl show.

Terry "Bamm Bamm" Gordy & Buddy Jack Roberts vs. The Mod Squad (7/1/87)

Birds really work over the heels early with Gordy just killing Basher with a clothesline. Squad catch Gordy and get them in their corner for some double teaming but he would break free using some punches to get the tag to Buddy. Roberts has a quick flurry but it isn't long before the Squad use cheapshots and double-teams to get the advantage. Buddy does a good job here as FIP with some good hope spots before Spike missed a big diving elbow off the top rope allowing Gordy to get the hot tag. Gordy runs wild before Buddy joins in and Gordy gets the win with a big powerslam. Fun match but not enough for a nomination.

Bunkhouse Match: Blackjack Mulligan, Ed "The Bull" Gantner, & Bugsy McGraw vs. Black Assassin (Bill Tabb), Dory Funk Jr., & Sir Oliver Humperdink (7/1/87)

The faces come out here and just tear these guys up although Mulligan juices instantly. The heels are on the ropes but this would finally break down into a normal match although Mulligan & Dory would drop to the floor to brawl with each other as we go to a break. We come back from break and Gantner is taking it to Funk but he would get caught in the heels corner and they were able to work him over. Mulligan would get the hot tag and he ran wild as some big man ran out and attacked Bugsy allowing Humperdink to throw powder in Mulligan's face. Kevin Sullivan then shows up and starts beating on Humperdink with a stick then Assassin and throws Mulligan on top to win. This wasn't really good but it was a fun spectacle.

NWA Southern Pro Wrestling 7/11/87

"The Enforcer" Arn Anderson vs. "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin (7/1/87)

Sir Oliver Humperdink & JJ Dillon as your announcers is something else. Garvin takes it to Arn early on and has him reeling going to the floor trying to recover. We go to a break as Garvin is working over Arn and we come back with them already counting the match down to 4 minutes remaining so we missed about 5 minutes of the match. They start to crank up the back and forth as there is 2 minutes left in the match with Arn getting the better of Garvin but when he went for the Gourdbuster, Garvin countered into an inside cradle. Garvin would then counter Arn again with a suplex and got a nearfall as the bell rang for the 20:00 draw.

Next we get clips of Sullivan attacking Humperdink in the bunkhouse match which is followed up by a promo from Mulligan about trusting Sullivan but he better not screw him. Barry then shows up trying to tell his dad not to trust him which was funny. Extra material.

NWA World Tag Titles: The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) © vs. The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane (7/1/87)

The MX are without Cornette here as he was nursing an injury. Good back and forth to start with the RnR being on the dominant end before we go to a break. We come back and the MX are still getting worked over but it was like they were going through the motions. Gibson would get caught and he was working FIP tonight getting thrown to the floor and dropped neck first on the railing. The heat section here is fine but it's not the usual RnR/MX type stuff and we get another break as this is going on but this time we don't miss much. MX are focusing on Gibson's bad left shoulder but he would get the hot tag to Morton who got a cross body block on Eaton then a double dropkick before Pee Wee Anderson DQed the MX because Lane broke up a pin. Lame finish to a disappointing match.

Then we get a promo from Humperdink & Dory about the 7/31 Orange Bowl show.

Next we get a promo from Bugsy McGraw about the Bash tour.

NWA World TV Title: Tully Blanchard © vs. Barry Windham (7/1/87)

Tully tries to stall early on but Windham won't let him and he keeps him in the ring where he works him over before we go to commercial yet again. We come back from break and Tully is in control and another big chunk is out of a match. Windham takes a good beating here from Tully on the floor bashing him on the railing a couple of times with Windham taking hard bumps on the floor. Windham is juicing now and he tries to fight back with some really nice hope spots but he couldn't capitalize as he was very weakened. TV time runs out as they brawl on the floor.
