Posted December 27, 200519 yr comment_4211056 Ex-pitcher Reardon arrested for robbery 4-time All-Star allegedly stole cash from jewelry store Updated: 9:10 a.m. ET Dec. 27, 2005 PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Former major league pitcher Jeff Reardon was charged with a jewelry store robbery and held pending a bond hearing Tuesday. The 50-year-old Reardon walked into Hamilton Jewelers at the Gardens Mall on Monday and handed an employee a note saying he had a gun and the store was being robbed, according to Palm Beach Gardens police. Reardon fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police found him at a nearby restaurant, recovered the stolen money and charged him with armed robbery. The four-time All-Star was 73-77 with 367 saves and a 3.16 ERA in 16 seasons with the New York Mets, Montreal Expos, Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds and New York Yankees.
