Is it sad that the best character to come out of OVW recently is Mickie James? Seriously, male cheerleaders? Simon Dean? The Boogeyman?

 

I guess they can't all be MNM...of course that leads to rape.

Don't bust on Simon Dean. He's been great on Velocity.

In ring, Simon Dean is fine. It's his goofy, one dimensional character people have a problem with.

 

They are really dropping the ball with Doane. That guy is a certifiable blue chipper IMO along the lines of Kurt Angle or Rock moreso than someone like Orton. This cheerleader thing will just halt his progress to the top faster. Sure, they can have him drop it sometime, but when the business needs stars and fresh talent, I don't see why they hinder such an obvious talent like Doane.

I'm guessing it's part bad writers, part clueless authority figures and part performers that want to protect their spots.

I like Dean's character. The Dean Machine, picking on the crowd, the stolen indy moves, I like the whole package. He's a jobber, he doesn't need an in-depth, nuanced character. He's fun for what he is.
