Puerto Rican Heavyweight Title - SR: Rufus R. Jones: Abuddadein © vs. The Invader (5/14/89)

Rufus as the referee is odd. Invader stifles Abuddadein early on until Abuddadein gets Invader in a backbreaker but Invader comes fight back getting a couple of nearfalls. Abudaddein though would counter a sleeper hold with a backdrop suplex and back to work he went on Invader's back more. Abuddadein would get many nearfalls on Invader including a big splash off the top rope and bloodies Invader but he can't put him away which frustrates him. Invader then would get an O'Connor Roll for a nearfall and Abuddadein complains to Rufus about a fast count. Invader eats a piledriver but gets his foot on the bottom rope to save himself and Abuddadein keeps up the pressure getting nearfall after nearfall before Invader would launch himself to do anything he could to stop Abuddadein. Invader has Abuddadein in trouble then punts him in the balls right in front of Rufus who does nothing. Invader locks on the sleeper but Invader can't put him away and we get Invader getting numerous nearfalls now with no success. Abuddadein would then hit a desperation DDT and pinned Invader using the ropes which didn't work prompting him to argue with Rufus. Invader then dropkicked Abuddadein into Rufus head first then cradled him to win the match. Very creative finish to end a pretty good little match. Low-end nomination.
