But surely there are some more ridiculous theories out there that aren't quite as well known as those that can be shared in this thread. Just the other day I was reading a topic on the ever awful Wrestlingforum.com speculating about Daniel Bryan's tweets and whether he was still trying to prepare for a comeback. Which then lead into someone speculating that his injuries really aren't as bad as he claimed, he made up the thing about having a lesion that causes seizures and it was all a ploy to try and get out of his contract so he can go to New Japan.

The douche who propounded it even went into details, the most memorable for me was "Owen said 'I love you' to Martha, something he would never say to her."

Even worse than the people accusing Sullivan are those thinking Vince was involved. Because you know Mr McMahon is evil. Stuff like that just makes me question their basic mental capabilities. The Savage Stephanie stuff also always struck me as weird. The answer why Savage never came back is quite obvious if we look at the personalities involved. Savage was just one of the most eccentric and stubborn persons in wrestling and Vince is a control freak with abandonment issues. So once they had a falling out it made sense that it would take them a long time to patch things up. It also would have happend as I am sure we would have seen Macho Man on TV already had he not died.

I never believed the Savage/Steph stuff, because Vince damn near cried on television thanking him and wishing him well when he left. As far as I know, Savage is the only person he ever gave that kind of send off. If Vince fired him for sleeping with his teenage daughter, I don't think he would have received such an obviously heartfelt sendoff.

I know Lanny Poffo talked about how Randy didn't want to go in the HOF unless WWE also inducted Lanny and their Dad. I'm not sure if that was something he just told Lanny or that he'd been contacted by WWE about it and made that demand and that's why he didn't go in earlier.

Not in the sense that Russo was some kind of double agent subverting WCW from within, as he's almost certainly not clever enough to pull that off. But more like when Russo told Vince that he was leaving for WCW, Vince figured that there was a near-100% chance that Russo would be an utter disaster with no filter.

Did Vince learn just how much of a cancer all of these guys (Hogan, Bischoff, Nash, Hall) could be when they killed WCW for him through their own failings? Did Vince ever figure that by leaving them unsigned he was inviting TNA to destroy itself by hiring them? I won't say it's a 100% sure thing, but I could see it being true.

Well this one is very likely true. The amount that Vince paid for WCW & the whole tape library was insanely low, lower than some of the other offers that were on the table for WCW. If I recall correctly the guy who brokered the deal then went to work for WWE shortly after it was done.
