Posted May 28, 20169 yr comment_5754991 Universal Heavyweight Title: Carlos Colon © vs. Hercules Ayala (7/23/88)Ayala goes after Colon big time to start as he takes him to the floor and pounds him head first onto the table then starts roughhousing him. Colon is wearing white so yes the blood should be flowing like wine. Colon is getting beaten from pillar to post by Ayala then Chicky Starr gets his shots in as well and Colon is getting railroaded. Ayala gets a big bearhug on Colon and it's looking dire for him but Colon has the spirit and he breaks free using his great punches. Colon now is getting his wind back and comes firing shots even while selling his back and the crowd is going nuts. Ayala is now juicing as Colon is a punching machine. Colon then goes to work on Ayala's left leg getting Ayala down for the Figure-Four but Ayala would counter him twice but not a third time. Chicky is trying to motivate Ayala to get free but they are in the middle of the ring so Chicky climbs up top and gets tossed off by Chris Youngblood. Ron Starr & Mark Youngblood then run out and we have a 4-way brawl. The rest of the locker room clears out and all start fighting with each other as Ayala is still in the Figure-Four. The referee is totally lost then Ron Starr comes off the top rope to attack Colon allowing Ayala to break free but as Colon went for another Figure-Four, Ayala caught him with an inside cradle to win the title. The match was really good but the wild brawling around ringside was chaotic and added an extra element to this match. Solid nomination.
June 1, 20169 yr comment_5755595 Ayala takes control right away abusing Carlos. Gotta love Chicky on the outside causing havoc. Loved Ayala focusing on the back setting up the big bearhug. Carlos makes a big comesack like Lawler or Hogan and then starts attacking the leg to keep the big man down. This sets up the figure four and all hell breaks loose and Ayala eventually pinning Carlos after interference. I really enjoyed this. Solid nomination.
