Posted May 30, 20169 yr comment_5755243 Universal Heavyweight Title Tournament - Finals: "Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin vs. Carlos Colon (11/24/88)What a fucking match this is and Colon is coming out to One Moment in Time by Whitney Houston...AMAZING.....We also get both National Anthems set to some great classical guitar playing which was classy. Both men are babyfaces here so it's all about trading holds and leverage to start the match. Colon had Ronnie in a short arm scissors for a good bit really working over Ronnie's left arm. Tensions would soon start mounting which is what we needed here because these two were made for brawling. The fans were starting to buzz as well just waiting on the explosion. Garvin would get a sleeper hold on Colon and the fans went nuts knowing that Colon is in trouble. Colon broke free though and immediately went to work on Garvin's left leg setting up the Figure-Four with Garvin landing wrong on a leap frog and the ref stopped Colon from taking advantage. Garvin then KOed Colon with a right hand then started jumping around as he faked the injury and the fans were going nuts throwing trash in the ring. Chicky Starr then ran out and shook Garvin's hand and they walked out together. That finish was AWESOME and this match is a easy nomination.
