July 4, 20187 yr comment_5855810 If you all haven’t already, check out Stevens on Maron’s WTF podcast. I’m the same episode has Chavo Jr as his other guest. Steven’s has a fascinating story of how she came into wrestling.
July 5, 20187 yr comment_5855908 Another great interview here with Kia Stevens on GLOW, her hair on the show, the origins of the Kong name, her mother's experience as an actor, and more. https://www.theringer.com/tv/2018/7/3/17527216/kia-stevens-glow-season-two
July 6, 20187 yr comment_5856030 Episode 7, the hospital one,is the best half hour of pro wrestling in forever.

July 7, 20187 yr comment_5856140 If anyone has animated .gif making capabilities I would love one of Kong sipping the tea!
July 13, 20187 yr comment_5856668 I've got to watch the last episode, and the show has some standout episodes and is still good (though a romance towards the end feels forced) but I think I prefer season 1.

July 13, 20187 yr comment_5856696 Coming from someone who is a massive fan of Stranger Things and Orange is the New Black the second season of GLOW is the best thing Netflix has produced yet.

Also she's giving him a lot of credit for assuming he wouldn't know the connotations of calling a black person "Kong" just because he's from Japan when that's the country that made Bob Sapp famous pretty much just for being a large black guy.

To be fair, I'd imagine in Japan, King Kong is mainly known as a monster, not an ape. Which was always my problem with "Kong ". From an American perspective it always came off racist. For me it was 50/ 50, half racist shit I hate and half me loving her being named after the greatest of all monsters.
August 6, 20187 yr comment_5860440 So I finally got around to this. "Womb goof." Holy shit, I almost lost it.

Her story has changed then because the one she always used to tell was that AJW gave her the name because they wanted her to be their new Aja Kong character and she said she was nervous about bumping into Aja in Japan due to not wanting to think she was stealing her gimmick. Apparently when they met Aja was a sweetheart and it was never an issue and they later became Double Kong as a team.
October 21, 20186 yr comment_5869755 Finally dove into S2 and : On 7/6/2018 at 5:56 AM, Johnny Sorrow said: Episode 7, the hospital one,is the best half hour of pro wrestling in forever. Hell yeah. Awesome episode. S2 has been even better than S1 thus far. And we're getting a S3 ! Kia Stevens was terrific in "her" episode too, hopefully she pops up in other good TV shows or movies.
October 29, 20186 yr comment_5870331 That last show was ridiculous. The "calling it in the ring" part was so cool. S3 can't arrive too soon. Heard it's gonna be darker. Not too dark I hope, but damn if this show ain't my favourite pro-wrestling TV show of the year.
August 21, 20196 yr comment_5897206 This is an amazing thread that needs to be shared with all... ***WARNING: SPOILERS FOR GLOW SEASON 3*** Reddit Thread Link Spoiler
September 6, 20196 yr comment_5898396 As expected, it was much lighter on pro-wrestling this time, but also considerably darker and deeper. The one criticism I have is that it feels too short and I want S4 already. And I mean, with that ending there have to be a S4. Loved this season, again.
September 6, 20196 yr comment_5898401 Just watched ep 5 last night. It was definitely the high point of the season so far and one of the best eps in the run

October 5, 20204 yr comment_5929740 Well shit. Here I was thinking it was already filmed. Well, at least I can still look forward to the new season of Cobra Kai, I guess.
October 6, 20204 yr comment_5929753 "How can we possibly do a show about wrestling during a pandemic? Everyone would have to get so close!" A good hint as to why Vince doesn't want wrestlers in SAG, he'd need to treat them like humans.
October 6, 20204 yr comment_5929764 Apparently, Taya Valkyrie was cast in Season 4 but I guess we'll never get to see it.
