This starts with Windham vs. Gilbert from 10/7/87 in Cleveland which was watched for the UWF set since it was a Power Pro Wrestling TV match.

Western States Heritage Title: Barry Windham © vs. Dory Funk Jr. (11/14/87)

This is from Sarasota, Florida so these two men were at home here. The match had some really good back and forth action as both men kept the match moving along good and Windham was looking great on offense. Windham kept Dory from making the match boring which was a major plus for him no doubt. Dory locks on the spinning toehold late in the match but Windham would kick him off and locked on the Figure-Four Leglock with 3 minutes left in the match but Dory would break free. Dory then took it to Windham before Windham hit a desperation flying lariat for a nearfall as Dory got the bottom rope. 60 seconds left as both men were trying to put the other one away but the time would run out as Windham had Dory in the corner. This was a very good match but I don't know if it was enough to get a nomination especially compared to the other matches on the set.

Then we get Windham vs. Zbyszko which was watched for the UWF set.

Windham vs Dory Jr.

I like the early hammerlock exchanges. Windham takes the lead early. Dory wants to slow the pace down. Dory with a nasty uppercut. Dory runs the ropes only to eat a Windham drop kick. Windham holding onto a headlock. Dory with another nasty European forearm. Those babies are timeless. Dory getting the heat using the forearm. Great hope spot with a sunset flip by Windham. Abdomial stretch by Dory, and uses the ropes for more pressure. They're brawling on the outside. Windham posts Dory. Both guys going toe to toe. Dory on the arm, and uses the rope for leverage. This gets the crowd pissed. I'm liking Dory's technical heel work. Windham with a great near fall of a roll up. Dory goes after a spinning toe hold after Windham misses a knee drop. Windham reverses it into a Fig 4. Windham working the leg. Overall I liked this. It's a unique match up and feels like a low-end nomination.
