Steel Cage Match for the NWA World Heavyweight Title: "Nature Boy" Ric Flair © vs. "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin (7/11/87)

If Flair won this match he got his dream date with Precious. Both men get a chance to shine early in the match but Garvin is the dominant one of course. Garvin started throwing Flair into the cage and now Garvin is in control of a bloody Flair although Garvin would hurt his knee allowing Flair to take over. Garvin though fights valiantly almost pulling Flair's tights completely off as he tried to leave the cage. Flair would then crotch himself on the top rope but Garvin couldn't capitalize quick enough because of his knee then couldn't hit a Brainbuster for the same reason. Flair then locked on the Figure-Four then used the ropes to win the match.Ronnie then attacks Flair afterwards but not enough for Flair not to cut a promo celebrating his upcoming date with Precious. This is the full match unlike the World Wide version and this match is a solid nomination.

NWA World TV Title: Tully Blanchard © vs. "Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff (8/19/87)

Nikit really works over Tully's left arm early and Tully is very good at selling everything going on. Tully was also bumping like crazy for Nikita as well which was what you needed to make Nikita look like a beast. Tully would get a huge break as he ducked a Russian Sickle and Nikita went flying over the top rope to the floor which allowed Tully to get some offense but Nikita caught him with another Sickle but Dillon had Earl Hebner distracted and he couldn't get there quick enough. Tully though would go back on offense and he has Nikita weakened but the fans are trying to will Nikita back up. Nikita fights back eventually and Tully is definitely reeling but he kicks at Nikita's knee which stops him a little althogh not enough as Nikita has Tully down but he can't put him away. Nikita would give Tully an atomic drop into Hebner then Dillon tries to get involved but Nikita took care of him. Nikita then picked up Tully for a backdrop suplex then he hit Hebner so Arn Anderson runs out and hands Tully a foreign object which he used to knock Nikita down but not out because Barry Windham runs out and tells Hebner that Arn gave him a weapon. Windham & Tully start fighting and Nikita hits Dillon & Tully with the object to win the title. The babyfaces ran out to celebrate with Nikita afterwards. Wild finish to a damn good match ahd this is a fairly easy nomination.

"Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin vs. "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson (9/1/87)

Dusty is on commentary with Bob Caudle here and he is awesome as usual. Arn's strategy here to start is to hold Garvin in some holds keeping him on defense because Garvin on offense is dangerous. Arn can't keep him down and Garvin fights back but Arn would throw him to the floor and Dillon would get his shot in for good measure. Garvin though would pull Arn down to the floor with him and started laying shots in before bringing him back in the ring where he was now in control. Garvin uses his whole body as a weapon to weaken Arn and this is some really good shit here as Arn is awesome selling and bumping for him. Dusty said that Arn got his left titty knocked off by a chop was tremendous. We go to break and come back and Arn is working over Garvin's left arm as only an Anderson would. Garvin using his head as a battering ram to stop this armwork was awesome. Garvin is a buzzsaw but Arn won't stay down and then we get a double collision which brings Arn back into the match. Arn climbs up top and Garvin slams him off then goes for the Figure-Four Leglock with Arn poking Tommy Young in the eye to get the DQ. Dusty then attacks Dillon on the floor as this is going on then Flair comes in the ring to attack Garvin. Dusty joins the fun and gets jumped by Tully & Luger with Luger putting him in the Torture Rack until the other babyfaces clean house. Spartanburg was going complete apeshit for this. The match was awesome....the angle was awesome....this is a definite nomination.

If Flair wins he gets a date with Precious. Which leads to some amazing tv. Great back and forth that leads to Garvin standing tall. Flair is on defense to start. Garvin reverses Flair into the corner and wears him out. Garvin is walking tall. Garvin on the arm. He's working it into the ropes. Garvin trowing chops like Ronnie. Back from commercial and it looks like Jimmy is selling an eye poke. Garvin rolls him up for a nearfall. Garvin back in control. Flair eats the steel. Flair is busted open. Garvin's leg buckles, and Flair smells his chance. Gavin doing everything to fight back and protect the leg. Flair finally gets the leg. I'll give this a low end nomination.

Easily one of Nikita's best matches ever. Thank you Tully Blanchard by making him look like a million bucks. I loved Nikita's headbutts to the arm. The whole match worked. A solid nomination.

 

"Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin vs. "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson (9/1/87)

This of course was very psychologically sound, with a poor finish. We see Arn take Garvin down on the mat. Arn goes after the arm. This takes one of Garvin's biggest weapons away, his punching power. So Ronnie reverts to using the headbutts. Post match brings all the heels and faces out. Low-End Nomination
