The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. Tommy Angel & Cougar Jay (1/15/88)

Easy win for the RnR.

Michael Hayes joins David Crockett next for a promo and this is maybe the last promo he cuts on TBS for a year since he quit that weekend. Hayes still wants Flair and the NWA World Tag Titles.

Sting vs. The Gladiator (1/15/88)

Gladiator lasted a lot longer this time than he did on World Wide that day. Sting demands that Flair come out after the match while in the ring with Schiavone.

"Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff & The Warlord vs. Mark Fleming & Bob Riddle (1/15/88)

Paul Jones' Army has no issues here.

Flair & Dillon are out next for a promo with Dillon saying that Sting isn't ready for the Horsemen yet. Flair then talks about Luger & Hawk and picks the Horsemen to win the Stampede.

The Sheepherders (Butch Miller & Luke Williams) vs. Trent Knight & Larry Stephens (1/15/88)

The Sheeps maul these guys.

Crockett interviews the Roadies & Ellering next about their matches at the Stampede.

"Sweet" Stan Lane & "Capt. Redneck" Dick Murdoch vs. Andrew Bellamy & Stan Crews (1/15/88)

Eaton was injured so Murdoch is teaming with Lane here and is a wildman. Murdoch was awesome in this role too bad it didn't go longer.

Crockett interviews Dusty Rhodes next about Murdoch, the Stampede, and other stuff with Dusty being fun as usual jiving.

Paul Jones & his army are out next for a promo about the Stampede and the benchpress contest.

"The Enforcer" Arn Anderson vs. George South (1/15/88)

Arn shakes South's hand before the match which was nice and he gives South some offense before finishing him off with the Gourdbuster. Arn & Dillon then cut a promo afterwards about the Stampede and Luger.

"Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin vs. Gene Ligon (1/15/88)

Mr. Torture is back in action and he terrorizes Ligon who tries to fight back in vain.

Crockett then interviews Cornette and his boys next and Cornette giving Murdoch money for his expenses is hilarious. Extra material.

Luger is with David Crockett next talking about how he is going to the ring to watch the next match.

Western States Heavyweight Title: Barry Windham © vs. Tully Blanchard (1/15/88)

Windham really takes it to Tully early on and Tully is bumping and selling his ass off to make Barry look good. Tully though is a grizzled veteran and uses some roughhouse tactics to subdue Barry or so he thought because Barry would find a way to get back on offense. It's interesting how they go to Crockett & Luger standing in the aisle during the match for an interview. Tommy Young would get bumped and that allowed Tully to get on the advantage as he wrapped Barry's left leg around the ringpost then used a steel chair right on the ankle. Tully then plays king of the mountain keeping Windham on the floor before he gets back in the ring for Tully to really work over Barry's knee. Windham does a great job of selling the injury while trying to get some offense in as well showing how it was hindering him from doing anything. Windham would get a sleeper hold but Tully would use that to get a kneebreaker to stop that flurry. Tully then broke a front piledriver which was interesting but Barry wouldn't die. Tully would get the Figure-Four and held it for a while before Barry would reverse it but the damage was done although again Windham wouldn't die and did whatever he could to stay alive. Windham would then make a superhuman comeback as they started counting down the minutes of the match but he tried for a Superplex and his leg gave out. Windham hit a big flying lariat though but Dillon would go over and rung the bell with 2 minutes left. Luger then ran over to the table and everyone told Tommy Young that Dillon rang the bell. Young then watched it on the monitor and saw what happened then restarted the match. Tully then snuck up in Windham with an inside cradle but Luger ran in the ring to stop the count and the brawl was on as Luger & Tully brawled, Dillon KOed Windham with his shoe then Arn & Flair ran out and attacked Luger with Arn dropping him with a DDT. Flair wanted Windham to help them then a fan jumped in the ring and they attacked him and this was a wild crazy scene as Sting joined in to run off the Horsemen. Windham would then go watch the replay and Luger said that he made a mistake in the past and they shook hands with Windham forgiving him. Tremendous match and tremendous angle as well makes this a definite nomination.
