Posted June 19, 20169 yr comment_5757400 NWA Super Bouts 1/30/88The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) vs. Max McGyver & Lee Peak (1/6/88)MX are dominant here and this was a long squash where they just toyed with these guys. Cornette and his boys cut a promo afterwards where Cornette rips on Dusty's family heavily and this is fantastic. Extra material.NWA World TV Title: "Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff © vs. Joe Cruz (1/6/88)Koloff manhandled this guy and then he joins Crockett afterwards talking about Cornette's promo minutes earlier and he tells them to bring it on. Nikita also calls out Mike Rotundo as well."Capt. Redneck" Dick Murdoch vs. Ricky Nelson (1/6/88)Cornette comes out with Murdoch for the first time here as Murdoch is his bounty hunter. Murdoch is a vicious fucker here destroying Nelson. Cornette & Murdoch then cut a promo after the match with Cornette singing George Jones and this is amazing. Extra material.NWA World Tag Titles: "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard © vs. Sting & Barry Windham (1/17/88)This is an interesting match from Charleston, WV. The champs are so fun here early on bumping like crazy here for the faces who show good chemistry for guys that had rarely ever teamed with each other. Sting is on the verge of getting the rocket on his back and this is a good way of achieving it as the champs make him look really good here. We get a clip here and the Horsemen are working over Sting's left knee here so we missed how that happened. The champs work over the leg fiercely and even have help from Dillon who is doing commentary as he grabs Tully's hand while he had Sting in the figure-four. Sting is very good at selling here and got the crowd buzzing for the hot tag which Windham got and came in a house of fire. Dillon complains about his foot hurting him on commentary so he hands his shoe to Arn who would use it on Windham for the DQ. This was a really good match but there is a cheap finish. Even with that finish though this is a low-end nomination at worst.NWA Super Bouts 2/13/88"Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff & The Warlord vs. Mark Fleming & Bob Riddle (1/15/88)Paul Jones' Army has no issues here.Flair & Dillon are out next for a promo with Dillon saying that Sting isn't ready for the Horsemen yet. Flair then talks about Luger & Hawk and picks the Horsemen to win the Stampede.Arn & Dillon then cut a promo afterwards about the Stampede and Luger."Sweet" Stan Lane & "Capt. Redneck" Dick Murdoch vs. Andrew Bellamy & Joe Cruz (1/15/88)Eaton was injured so Murdoch is teaming with Lane here and is a wildman. Murdoch was awesome in this role too bad it didn't go longer.Crockett interviews Dusty Rhodes next about Murdoch, the Stampede, and other stuff with Dusty being fun as usual jiving.NWA World TV Title: Nikita Koloff © vs. Mike Rotundo (1/26/88)This is the rematch. Both men traded holds early on and Rotundo was definitely dictating the pace here as it was slow and deliberate. The action would pick up late in the match especially when Rick Steiner showed up at ringside where he grabbed Nikita as he had Rotundo pinned. Nikita would hit the Sickle on Rotundo but Earl Hebner was with Steiner and Sullivan would nail Nikita with a spike allowing Rotundo to win. Okay match.
March 20, 20178 yr comment_5792617 I'm all in on the Extras. The one match nominated I've discussed already.
