Posted June 22, 20169 yr comment_5757773 The Varsity Club (Rick Steiner & Mike Rotundo) vs. Keith Steinborn & Ryan Wagner (3/14/88)Jesus, Rotundo dropkicking Wagner who was held by Steiner for a Hot Shot was crazy. Steiner dropping Steinborn on his head was tough too. Sullivan and the VC cut a promo afterwards with Rotundo & Steiner acting like complete goofs. This is hilarious.Next we get clips of The Fantastics NWA debut on 3/12 from Norfolk against the MX. This match was amazing.The Fantastics make their TBS debut next in a promo talking about the match and how they are entitled to a shot at the US Tag Titles.Gary Hart makes his debut next and it was kind of a surprise at the time because he was so entrenched at World Class with Al Perez who also was making his debut later on. Hart said that they were coming for Dusty Rhodes.Shane Douglas vs. Bear Collie (3/14/88)Collie gives Douglas a fight here but Shane would get him with a Belly-To-Belly to win.Dusty is out next for a promo talking about Gary Hart being there now and he will take care of that when it's time. Dusty then talks about the Crockett Cup and how he & Nikita will win the Cup for a 2nd straight year then he gave his million dollar smile. Hilarious.Sting vs. Joe Cruz (3/14/88)Sting wins very easily and he cuts a promo afterwards about his match with Flair at the Clash and how JJ will be in a cage.Jim Crockett is out next talking about the Crockett Cup and the Clash where he announced the MX will defend their US Tag Titles against The Fantastics. Cornette then comes out and whines about that decision cutting a fun promo where they threaten to cripple the Fants.The Powers of Pain (The Barbarian & The Warlord) vs. Max McGyver & Bob Riddle (3/14/88)POP kill these guys and Paul Jones is mic'd up for the match which was interesting. Jones & Ivan then cut a promo afterwards about the barbed wire match at the Clash.Ron Simmons vs. Trent Knight (3/14/88)Simmons is just a powerhouse here.Flair & Dillon are out next for a promo talking about Sting and the match at the Clash. Flair is great here talking about how great he is.Jim Crockett comes back out and announces that Arn & Tully would defend their titles against Luger & Windham at the Clash.The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) vs. Steve Atkinson & El Negro (3/14/88)Total squash and we get a promo from them after the match with Animal in his hockey mask vowing to destroy the POP."Total Package" Lex Luger vs. Andrew Bellamy (3/14/88)Very easy win for Luger and along with Windham they cut a promo afterwards about winning the NWA World Tag Titles at the Clash. Luger then pimps the rest of the Clash show."Latin Heartthrob" Al Perez vs. Tony Suber (3/14/88)Perez makes his debut here and is quite impressive. Gary Hart then cuts another promo after the match and he vows the days of Dusty Rhodes are coming to an end.The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) vs. Mike Jackson & Alan Martin (3/14/88)Cornette also mic'd up here. Eaton's slingshot of Jackson over the top rope to the floor was fucking nuts and then Cornette bodyslammed him on the floor. The MX are maniacs here beating these guys.The Fants come back for a promo talking about the MX being shaken up by them and they want to face the MX right then and there. Cornette comes out telling them to leave but they don't and the MX jump them. The battle goes to the ring where both teams just tee off on each other. This is a wild fucking brawl and is just like Memphis. TBS rarely had brawls like this. This is a definite extra.
