Posted June 23, 20169 yr comment_5757876 NWA Pro Wrestling 4/2/88The Garvin's start the show talking about the Crockett Cup where Ronnie will team up with Sting as Jimmy will face Kevin Sullivan in a Prince of Darkness match. Jimmy is unsure about the match but he wants Sullivan. The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) vs. David Spearman & Larry Stephens (3/18/88)This ends in seconds after a Doomsday Device on Spearman. The Roadies then cut a promo on getting revenge against the POP and winning the Crockett Cup.Flair cuts a promo next about how great the NWA is and how great he is.Sting vs. Max McGyver (3/18/88)Squash and Sting cuts a promo afterwards about coming for Flair and the Crockett Cup.The Varsity Club (Rick Steiner & Mike Rotundo) vs. Trent Knight & Tony Suber (3/18/88)Strong showing for the VC.The Roadies & Ellering then cut a promo for the 4/15 Boston Garden show and their Chicago Street Fight with the POP.Shane Douglas vs. Rick Paradise (3/18/88)Shane looks good here but what a name for a jobber.NWA World Tag Titles: "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard © vs. "Total Package" Lex Luger & Barry Windham (3/18/88)Magnum TA is on commentary with Jim Ross which is interesting. The babyfaces are very hot to start with the champs pinballing all over for them especially Luger who was looking like Superman with the fans going nuts. The commercial breaks hurt the flow of this naturally but the work here was really damn good. Luger worked FIP here in his own way which was interesting as Windham seemed the natural choice for that role bu it worked out well. Windham got the hot tag and the 4-way brawl was on with Magnum getting up using his bat to hit Dillon then he hit Tully as he was trying to take it from him. Another referee ran out to tell Tommy Young what happened and he called for the DQ. I think as a nomination this doesn't make the cut for various reasons such as commercials and the finish but the angle is a definite extra.World Wide Wrestling 4/2/88Caudle starts the show interviewing Flair again talking about how great the NWA was.Sting vs. Bob Riddle (3/18/88)Another squash for Sting and he cuts a promo after the match about teaming with Garvin at the Crockett Cup and coming for Flair.Next we get a promo from Powers of Pain about their Chicago Street Fight against the Roadies on 4/8 at Nassau Coliseum.Luger & Windham then cut a promo next about gunning for Arn & Tully and how they almost got them on NWA Pro. Luger also talks about winning the Crockett Cup.Magnum TA then talks to Bob Caudle next and said that he's not sorry for using his baseball bat because he needed to stop Dillon."Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin & "Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin vs. The Varsity Club (Rick Steiner & Mike Rotundo) (3/18/88)The Ronnie/Rotundo stuff early on was fun and the work in general was pretty good. Sullivan threw Ronnie into the railing in the floor and then when Garvin had Mike in the Brainbuster, Steiner ran in and nailed him then hit Tommy Young which prompted a DQ. They put the black mask on Garvin and then used the spike on him until Ronnie ran them off with a chair. The match was fine but the angle is extra material.Next we get a Roadies/Ellering promo for the 4/8 show in Long Island about their match with POP."Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff & The Powers of Pain (The Barbarian & The Warlord) vs. Joe Cruz, Max McGyver, & Curtis Thompson (3/18/88)Total squash and then Jones cuts a promo on the Roadies afterwwards."Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko vs. Trent Knight (3/18/88)Larry handles Knight very easily. The Roadies cut a promo with Caudle next about winning the Crockett Cup again and coming for revenge against the POP."The Enforcer" Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard vs. Rick Paradise & Tony Suber (3/18/88)It's funny....Suber tags Paradise in who immediately takes all the Horsemen's finishers and loses. The Horsemen then cut an angry promo afterwards talking about what Magnum did earlier as Tully demanded he get in the ring if the wants to play.
