This is the first proper NWA Houston TV show with Paul Boesch & Peter Birkholtz as the hosts with Houston matches mixed in.

The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) vs. The Powers of Pain (The Barbarian & The Warlord) (5/13/88)

This is from Sam Houston Coliseum and so fun seeing the action back here again. This was a decent back and forth match between these two huge teams nothing outstanding. Hawk winning with just a big clothesline was kind of an anti-climatic finish. POP beat Hawk down afterwards until Animal chases them off with a steel chair.

US Heavyweight Title Tournament - Finals: Barry Windham vs. "Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff (5/13/88)

Nikita is working this match with an injured left leg thanks to Al Perez from earlier in the show. Windham immediately works over Nikita's left leg and goes after it vigorously. Nikita tries to fight back as much as he could but Barry just pounds him right back down. Windham locks on the Figure-Four but again Nikita won't quit. Windham missed a big diving elbow off the top rope and Nikita got the break he needed so he came firing back doing whatever he could. Nikita still sells his knee as he's teeing off on Barry but as he tried to bring Windham back in from the apron, Dillon tripped Nikita and Windham fell on top as Dillon held his foot to win the match. Good storytelling but the match was extremely one-sided.

Sting vs. Trent Knight (5/30/88)

Sting totally squashes Knight and Sting talks to Jim Ross afterwards about the lines being drawn going into the Great American Bash and war is coming.

"The Enforcer" Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard vs. David Isley & Larry Stephens (5/30/88)

The champs look great here and they talk to Caudle afterwards with Dillon as they pimp the Bash tour.

Dusty is out next for a promo with Tony Schiavone talking about all the babyfaces that are ready for war at the Great American Bash. Dusty talks about getting drunk with Dr. Death in a limo in Mesquite, Texas. Extra material.

Barry Windham vs. Tommy Angel (5/30/88)

Dusty has distracted Windham from the interview position and windham is thrown off to start but he ends up destroying Angel.

The Savannah, Georgia crowd is red hot chanting for Dusty as Windham tells Bob Caudle that he isn't scared of Dusty which brings Dusty out. Dusty gets in Windham's face so Windham slaps him which starts a brawl around the ring with the Horsemen running out then Doc, Nikita, & Sting to follow and this is an awesome angle. Extra material.

"Dr. Death" Steve Williams vs. Bob Emory (5/30/88)

Doc is pumped up and he mauls Emory.

"Gamesmaster" Kevin Sullivan vs. Curtis Thompson (5/30/88)

Sullivan kills Thompson before Precious walks to ringside and she stares down Sullivan before Jimmy Garvin shows up trying to get her to leave but she wants to stay. Garvin runs in the ring to attack Sullivan but he ducks out to laugh him.

"Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff vs. Bob Riddle (5/30/88)

Nikita manhandles Riddle and then talks to Caudle after the match about how Al Perez & Gary Hart are cowards.

"Latin Heartthrob" Al Perez vs. Joe Cruz (5/30/88)

Strong win for Perez and they join Caudle after the match with Hart not believing how the American fans are cheering for a Russian.

The Sheepherders (Butch Miller & Luke Williams) vs. Johnny Ace & Mighty Wilbur (5/9/88)

What a matchup this is and both babyfaces get a lot of offense in on the Sheeps but the Sheeps would use illegal double-teaming and Rip Morgan's help on the floor to turn the tide on Ace. Johnny makes a comeback but doesn't tag in Wilbur so he comes in on his own. Ace locks in a sleeper on Luke but Morgan attacks him with the flag and Luke covers to win.
