Sting comes out to start the show for a promo talking about sticking his nose in Flair's business and that he is going to do what he has to do to help Luger.

Ron Simmons vs. Eddie Sweat (9/28/88)

Florida State retired Big Ron's jersey the week before so he was pumped up here. Crockett congratulates Simmons after the match for getting his jersey retired and again he tells the kids to stay off drugs as well as men abusing children and tells them to get in the ring against him if they want to fight.

"Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff vs. Agent Steel (9/28/88)

Ivan getting cheered was so odd and he takes out Steel easily then cuts a promo on Paul Jones afterwards who jumps in the ring and demands Ivan come fight him which was a trap of course as the Assassins jump Ivan until Nikita chases them off with the chain. Crockett then interviews the Koloffs afterwards and Nikita said the time is right for them to reunite. Nikita then asks the fans to open their hearts for Uncle Ivan and he said that Paul Jones will pay. Extra material.

NWA World TV Title: "Dogfaced Gremlin" Rick Steiner © vs. Italian Stallion (9/28/88)

Steiner is defending for Mike Rotundo as a sign of good gesture trying to get the Varsity Club on the same track and to make Steiner feel like a real star. Stallion gives Steiner a run for his money as Steiner at times acts like he doesn't know what's going on as he's becoming stupider you know. This is good storytelling as the VC get pissed more and more at Steiner as he can't finish off Stallion. Steiner finally finished him off with a huge Steinerline ending one of the most fun segments on WCW in a while. The match isn't a nomination but this should be an extra.

Jim Ross then interviews Tim Willett next about the NWA touring the old Mid-South Wrestling territory as he is the promoter for the tour.

Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Trent Knight (9/28/88)

Bam Bam makes his TBS debut and his theme music is hilarious. Bammer wins this very easily and Crockett interviews Sir Oliver Humperdink and Bammer about coming to the NWA where they want all the titles.

Dusty comes out next wearing a Raiders hat and a blue tracksuit talking about what's going on in the NWA then says a woman looks like Joe Frazier before telling his mom he loved her.

The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) vs. The Menace & The Nightmare (9/28/88)

The Fants look awesome here and they talk to Crockett after the match about coming back home to Mid-South as well as wanting the US Tag Titles. The Sheeps come out next and they talk about how tired they are of hearing the Fants talk about being Americans and this is nothing but a shouting match.

Barry Windham vs. George South (9/28/88)

Windham is very impressive here and then they join Crockett afterwards talking about Dillon having a steel cage match with Jim Cornette in Philly and he said that he is going to get his payback there. Windham then talks about Sting and how he has beaten him before and will do it even more.

"Dr. Death" Steve Williams vs. Joe Cruze (9/28/88)

Mike Rotundo & Kevin Sullivan are at ringside and they are scouting Dr. Death for the Varsity Club. Doc doesn't care and handles his business quickly. Doc cuts a promo with Crockett next and he said that he wants the NWA World TV Title saying that he invented the Varsity Club.

Luger is out next talking about his problems with Flair as Windham always wants to interfere and Flair loves to cheat to win. Luger said that he and Sting would be watching each other's backs now.

Sting vs. Terry Jones (9/28/88)

Sting wins this easily.

Cornette is out next talking about how great the MX being the best tag team in the world and talks about his upcoming cage match with Dillon in Philly.

The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) vs. Jerry Price & Gary Royal (9/28/88)

Royal getting some offense in to start as Cornette flip flops on putting the titles on the line right there was funny. Cornette said that they have no friends and will face any team around the world. Cornette then goes full roastmaster mode and roasts everyone in the promotion. Extra material.

Flair is with David Crockett next for a promo where he talks about how great he is and mocks Luger & Sting. Flair then talked about Bigelow saying that he had wrestled with the best in the world but he said that there were 20 guys in the NWA that could kick his ass....yikes. Extra material.

"Capt. Redneck" Dick Murdoch vs. JC Wilde (9/28/88)

Sullivan is back at ringside scouting Murdoch who just destroys Wilde. He ran him head first into the ringpost really damn hard. Murdoch joins Crockett after the match talking about his son playing high school football and he doesn't know what Sullivan is doing watching him but he will be with Dusty when they go on their Mid-South tour.

"Latin Heartthrob" Al Perez & "Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko vs. Mike Jackson & Keith Steinborn (9/28/88)

Perez & Zbyszko look very sharp as a team here.
