First Darren Young wins a battle royal by taking a long ass time to get up as the last two guys eliminate each other to secure himself an Intercontinental Title shot, then Zack Ryder does a clean job to Sheamus, and gets beat up by Rusev to earn himself a U.S. Title shot.

Way to make those secondary titles look important going into the brand split.

You can tell they are filling time when they decide to have their own version The Final Deletion on RAW.

"He is not a good guy, he is not a bad guy, he is a suspended guy" is just hilarious. They really think that this is going to make people cheer for him when he comes back. And god forbid if he actually wins the damn belt

And there it is. The Final Deletion, WWE style. Holy hell this company is shameless. Yes, your production values are better, but just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you should. This Wyatts-New Day "segment" is so grossly out of step with the regular WWE product. Lucha Underground can get away with it because that's been their thing from the start and they aren't pretending to present a sport. TNA can get away with it because they're on the brink of extinction and need to try anything, but WWE? No need. Ridiculous.

The Final Deletion worked because it was so batshit insane and over the top. As usual, WWE only understands things in the broadest terms. They played their version completely straight and it just didn't work.

That would have worked MUCH better if they just shot it "on location" from one camera.

My biggest issue is this fight is that in 2 weeks they are going to have a regular tag match at Battleground. Their match should be some kind of stipulation like a cage or at least Texas Tornado if they are doing this. Probably won't happen. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if we still get goofy New Day

Agreed, i didn't mind this as just a wild brawl in the woods. But it definitely made me want to see the feud continue in that direction as a blood feud and just a have a chaotic street fight at Battleground.

Didn't know where else to post my thoughts (since they don't warrant a thread):

It's just an aethestic thing, but I'd be much happier with a return to two world titles if they created another championship committee/organisation (kind of, sort of, like NEVER in New Japan).

As in, you could have the 'WWE World Heavyweight Championship' on Raw and, let's say, the 'IPWC World Heavyweight Championship' on Smackdown. Instead, we get this bizarre middle-ground where, instead of seeming to have two legitimate world title, it just looks like a protracted succession dispute. For example, is the 'World Heavyweight Championship' not a WWE belt? Is the 'WWE Championship' not a world heavyweight title?

Edit: Heck, why don't they just literally reactivate the WCW belts?

Just some quick thoughts:

- As soon as I saw Bob Backlund outside of the ring on that battle royal, I had a feeling Young was gonna win this and I was right. So it seems all these vignettes actually led to something meaningful, especially if he beats Miz with the CFCW. Astounding, really.

- I liked how they covered up for that botched spot by Kalisto. Instant reaction and good transitition into the second attempt. Seemed very professional. As professional as it can seem after a botch, at least...

- "Not a good guy, not a bad guy... the suspended guy"... Awesome, i laughed hard when i read it. The video was rather cheesy, but I really liked the intensity Ambrose showed afterwards and that he CAN take things seriously, it fits his somewhat toned down persona over the last few weeks.

- The Wyatt vs. New Day segment was... someting else. I can't really find any words to describe it, but it sure was unusual.

- shane for SD and Steph for Raw is just what you'd expect. What I'm asking myself is, with the GM's in place, does that mean we won't get to see them all the time and they'll just "supervise" the shows and pop up on screen from time to time? If so, I'm all in for the GM idea.

- Is "Smackdown Live" the new official name for the show? If so, it sucks.

So are we pretending now that Final Deletion was good and not just an Ed Wood level "so awful it's funny " thing?

I think its more of a comparison to the WWE's version of it.

Its like comparing the 1960s Batman series, which many do consider an embarrassment to the character and genre (in the way non wrestling fans think all wrestling is pretty much Ultimate Warrior's cartoonish schtick, many non comic fans still think of that show's cheesy camp and "BIFF BAM POW" when talking comic books and Batman) to the awful Legends of The Superheroes/Roast specials a decade later (sadly also featuring West and Ward) which NO ONE fondly remembers, if they remember them at all!

Final Deletion wasn't good. It was great (for reasons mentionned above).

The fact WWE is copying it 6 days after it was showed demonstrates (if need be) how petty and uncreative these people are. What is their current big idea BTW ? Oh, yes, the stuff they did 12 years ago, which failed, with a McMahon on each side and more GMs. Genius.

A better example would be a movie adaptation of an old TV show (or whatever) but took everything good about the original out, and kept in all the stuff that got laughed at. Think Starksy and Hutch, Dukes of Hazzard, Lost in Space, Three Stooges, etc

It's like if instead of following up Space Seed, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan was a followup to I Mudd, Spock's Brain, or one of the original Star Trek episodes considered among the very worst of all-time due to 1960s camp sci-fi silliness.

Final Deletion also wasn't presented to be good. Fun, yes, but not a sophisticated wrestling angle or production. Clearly designed to be fun with a whole lot of over the top tongue in cheek humor. For those purposes it seemed fine. The Wyatt/New Day bit seemed to take itself a whole lot more seriously.
