Misty Blue & Heidi Lee Morgan vs. Linda Dallas & Kat LeRoux (12/12/88)

The women are back and Mad Dog Debbie is at ringside with the heels as she is supposed to be in the managers Bunkhouse Stampede. They tried hard but the finish was kind of funky as Teddy Long was counting three when Mad Dog Debbie ran in and he stopped counting too early.

Sting vs. Bill Holiday (12/12/88)

Sting wins very quickly with the Scorpion Deathlock then talks to Ross after the match running to the crowd grabbing a sign with his likeness on it.

The Russian Assassins (Angel of Death & Jack Victory) vs. Max Miles & Tony Suber (12/12/88)

Total squash and during the match, Jones speculates that he can buy the Junkyard Dog.

Paul E. and his boys are out next for a promo where he shills Starrcade heavily before he just tees off on Cornette and the MX. Definite extra.

Jim Cornette is out next and he is great here playing the babyface thanking the fans for knowing what's right and supporting them in their battles with Paul E. and the OMX. Cornette wishing the fans Merry Christmas is something then Rick Steiner brings out his dog and gives it to Cornette who is great reacting. Extra material.

Junkyard Dog, "Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff, & "Dogfaced Gremlin" Rick Steiner vs. Randy Hogan, Keith Steinborn, & Eddie Sweat (12/12/88)

What a 6-man team that is and Cornette holding the dog throughout is something. This is quite the squash match as Steiner just drops Sweat with a front piledriver that almost broke his neck. Steiner also lets another kid kick a jobber.

Luger is out next all dressed up for a promo saying that the time for talking is done and that he will be the next NWA Champion after Starrcade. This is the most serious Luger promo ever.

The Varsity Club (Kevin Sullivan & Steve Williams) vs. Randy Mulkey & Ryan Wagner (12/12/88)

Damn the VC just kill Mulkey here as Sullivan is a total maniac.

The Road Warriors are out next talking about being evil on Christmas and they don't care if they get coal in their stockings or not. Then they talk about Dusty & Sting and how they will destroy them at Starrcade.

The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) vs. Rick Allen & Jerry Price (12/12/88)

Fants win another easy TV match.

Ric Flair is out next wearing a black fur coat talking about his match with Luger at Starrcade. Flair is great here talking about how he is the only world champion. Extra material.

The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) vs. Mike Jackson & Gary Royal (12/12/88)

Cornette talks about how he feels about Scrooge after he turned good and wished Merry Christmas to his mother and Randy Mulkey just for being able to still walk. MX have their standard solid squash match here.

Dustin Rhodes vs. Trent Knight (12/12/88)

Dustin with his first TV singles match here and gets a good win as Knight gives him a run for his money but Dustin rebounds and puts him away. This was the most offense that Knight ever got in a match.

Barry Windham vs. "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert (12/12/88)

JJ Dillon doing the Jim Cornette style intro for Windham before the match was something. Windham & Dillon think this match is easy early on as they play around joking at ringside before Gilbert got tired of it and just started throwing all kinds of shots on Windham sending him reeling. This now turns into a slugfest as Windham starts firing shots until Gilbert drops him with a DDT. Windham drops to the floor and is dazed with Dillon being concerned as Gilbert is looking like a definite threat. The fans are red hot for Eddie as he just keeps taking it to Windham before Windham would neutralize him using some dirty tactics. The story now is that Windham is really working over Gilbert but he keeps fighting back no matter what and the fans are willing him to keep going. Gilbert blocked a Superplex then went for a Thesz Press which Windham blocked with the Iron Claw and it looked like it was over for Gilbert now. Gilbert fights back though and forces Windham to break the hold but Dillon would catch Gilbert with a knee and Windham got an inside cradle to win the match. Flair would join Windham & Dillon after the match with Gilbert coming over saying that Windham couldn't beat him by himself and needed help. Windham then grabbed Gilbert so Flair could pound on him and it went to the ring when Bigelow ran out to even the odds as the show went off the air. This was a damn good match and fun angle afterwards so I'm passing this on as a fairly easy nomination.
