The Varsity Club is out to star the show with a promo where Rotundo shows his $10,000 that he is putting up later in the show.

The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) vs. Bob Cook & The Raider (3/2/89)

MX look great here and join Ross with Cornette after the match talking about their upcoming matches with the Samoans where Lane talks about how different the teams act on beaches which was great.

Iron Sheik vs. George South (3/2/89)

Even South couldn't make Sheiky look good here.

Next we get the Danger Zone featuring Lex Luger this week as the guest. I love they play Sting's future music here instead of Lex's. Luger said that he wants to defend his title against anyone especially Windham. Luger is asked about teaming with Hayes who comes running out which kinda annoyed Luger and then Paul E. talked about Luger being a new Freebird which pissed off Hayes. This is quite the segment and it foreshadows the turn a little. Extra material.

NWA World TV Title: "Captain" Mike Rotundo © vs. Cougar Jay (3/2/89)

Needless to say that Mike's money is safe here but Cougar actually gets some offense in and a nearfall.

Flair & Matsuda are out next for a promo and he said that he won't rest until he gets his title back. It pisses him off to see Luger holding the US Title and he said that he wants to go for his title too.

Sting vs. Julio Barrera (3/2/89)

Sting is pumped up and he takes care of Barrera with ease. Sting then talks to Magnum afterwards doing some surfer schtick which was something.

"Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. Greg Evans (3/2/89)

Flair working former Deep South Tag champ Greg Evans on TBS is a sight and Flair is awesome working this squash match as he hits everything with the crispness. Flair wins with the Figure-Four then refuses to break the hold and throws Teddy Long to the floor. Flair then joins Jim Ross after the match gets in Magnum's face calling him a real man and Flair is pumped up talking about being with 5,000 women and that he is coming for Luger & Steamer. Flair is outstanding here. Extra material.

Barry Windham vs. Gator Gilmore (3/2/89)

Kendall helps Barry maul poor Gator and the crew joins Magnum after the match with Windham talking about how he may be hurt but he is chasing Luger and will get his title back.

The First Family are out next for a promo about the Varsity Club and that they want a piece of that $10,000 that Rotundo is offering up. Gilbert mentioning that he leaves promotions because he doesn't like being told what to do was an amazing line. Gilbert promises to never leave Steiner again.

The Varsity Club (Danny Spivey & Kevin Sullivan) vs. Mike Thor & Morgan Vastien (3/2/89)

Total squash here and we get an inset promo from Ranger Ross talking up his debut.

"Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert & "Dogfaced Gremlin" Rick Steiner vs. Trent Knight & Max Miles (3/2/89)

Gilbert & Steiner are an impressive team here and Steiner's Belly-To-Belly left Magnum speechless. Steiner is just a fucking freak at this point.

The Varsity Club is out next for another promo talking about how they are the elite and Spivey talks about Vince Dooley is on his way out so he doesn't care about what he thinks. Dooley was the UGA Head Football Coach when Spivey played there.

"Hacksaw" Butch Reed vs. Joe Cruz (3/2/89)

Butch with another strong win.

The Samoan Swat Team (Fatu & Samu) vs. Bob Emory & Randy Mulkey (3/2/89)

The SST like Steiner were absolute freaks at this time...so great. Paul E. and his crew join Ross after the match where they play with Paul's phone and Paul demands a challenge.

Michael "PS" Hayes, Junkyard Dog, & Vincent Young vs. The Cruel Connection & Rip Morgan (3/2/89)

Hayes was a little upset that his music isn't being played as they did Young's instead. Hayes got the tag and finished the match very quickly looking like he had a purpose. Young breakdanced as JYD watched after the match.
