Shane Douglas vs. The Raider (3/29/89)

Shane is back and gets an easy win.

Bob Orton Jr. vs. Dewayne Bruce (3/29/89)

Orton makes his debut and looks strong over the future Buddy Lee Parker using the Superplex to win. Orton & his new manager Gary Hart talk after the match about Orton's history in Atlanta and his future feud with Dick Murdoch.

The Varsity Club (Danny Spivey & Kevin Sullivan) vs. "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert & "Dogfaced Gremlin" Rick Steiner (3/29/89)

Steiner & Spivey had a fun little big man exchange early on and then Gilbert & Sullivan had a fun clubbering exchange. Steiner ends up working FIP and the VC work him over viciously before he finally gets the hot tag on Gilbert who drops Sullivan with the Hot Shot but Spivey runs in. It becomes a 4-way brawl with Sullivan sending Gilbert into the ring post then cradled him to win the match. This wasn't nomination material but it had some decent action.

After the match we get a taped promo from Gilbert & Steiner which was obviously at another venue but made to look like TBS Studios.

Next we get the Danger Zone with Gary Hart & Great Muta and Hart tells everyone that Muta is the son of the Great Kabuki. This is extra material.

Ron Simmons vs. Bucky Seigler (3/29/89)

Big Ron is back and when he is on offense he just murders Seigler as he is turning heel but Seigler actually gets some offense in although not enough.

Steamer comes out next wearing a suit like he used to do in the JCP days talking about his Clash match with Flair and how they are going old school with 2 out of 3 falls for the NWA World Heavyweight Title. Steamer puts over the danger of such a match and that he wants to prove to everyone that he is no fluke. Extra material.

The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) vs. John Brewer & Snake Brown (3/29/89)

Total destruction and after the match the Roadies talk about the Varsity Club and how they talked shit while they were gone but the talking is over. They are sick and tired of the VC and they will be the champs forever.

The Samoan Swat Team (Fatu & Samu) vs. Troy Aldridge & Jim Bryant (3/29/89)

SST just maul these guys then break a pineapple over their heads after the match for good measure.

Handicap Match: The Great Muta vs. The Cruel Connection (Gary Royal & George South) (3/29/89)

Muta looks more and more amazing by the week but still hasn't broke out the Moonsault just yet.

JYD is out next for a promo talking about going back home to New Orleans at the Clash facing his old rival Butch Reed.

Ranger Ross vs. Paul Brown (3/29/89)

Ross gets a solid win here.

Paul E. is out next for a promo talking about how Jack Victory is going to beat Lex Luger for the US Title at the Clash because he has had the proper training by the FBI/CIA.

"Secret Service" Jack Victory vs. Don Sanders (3/29/89)

Victory has the big match with Luger so he beats Sanders with ease and this was the last match ever to air from Techwood Studios.

NWA World TV Title: "Captain" Mike Rotundo © vs. Sting (3/30/89)

This is the first match to ever air from Center Stage in Atlanta and this is a big match. Nick Patrick even makes his debut as the referee for this. The Varsity Club surrounds ringside as Sting is taking it to Rotundo early and often. Rotundo tried to use his smarts to keep Sting from really getting him in trouble. Sting hit his big plancha to the floor then a big cross body block for a big nearfall as the fans were going nuts. Luger & Steamboat showed up to rally Sting on to counter the VC but Rotundo would soon go on offense as there was a standoff at ringside between Luger/Steamer and the VC with Steamer & Doc facing off which that would've been an awesome match. Sting fights back with vigor and the building is coming unglued as he puts the Scorpion Deathlock on Rotundo. Sullivan runs in the ring as the others brawl on the floor and attacks Sting. Rotundo covers Sting but Sting gets his foot on the rope and Rotundo keeps trying to put Sting away and he can't do it. Sting then catches Rotundo in an O'Connor Roll to win his first ever singles title and everyone goes apeshit. Luger & Steamer were so great trying to carry him around the ring making this a big deal. This was a really solid effective match and a easy nomination.

Flair is out with Matsuda next for a promo with Ross & Hayes for his last promo at Techwood Studios and he vows to beat Steamer to get his title back at the Clash. Extra material.
