Get it here.

Vacation is over and the Superpodcast is back for with a fresh new episode! This episode includes:

  • A conversation with Richard Vicek, author of the book Bruiser, on the history of the Chicago Wrestling Club, which was run by Verne Gagne, Dick The Brusier & Wilbur Snyder. Richard supplies us with rare audio from some of the biggest archars to ever work in Chicago, including a young Bobby Heenan, Mad Dog Vachon, Dr. X, the Chain Gang and many more.
  • The return of the Top Ten and the listener fantasy booking of Marc Gullen vs. Orgasmic Larry Nelson.
  • More listener questions and “What If” suggestions. We talk about a number of topics, including Harley Race skipping Starrcade ’83, the worst wrestling managers, Billy Jack Haynes and more!

Another packed show, so CALL SOMEBODY!

I'm still working my way through the episode. It's been stellar so far. Great listener and what if segments this week. On that worst managers tip, not sure I'd put him number one, but here's one WWF manager I think you may (or maybe not?) have overlooked...

Frenchy Martin was the one WWF manager that immediately sprang to mind who you didn't mention in the segment.

Kendo Nagasaki's manager after George Gillette was Lloyd Ryan, whilst another terrible British manager was Charles McGee (usually managing whomever was opposing Daddy in the obligatory tag match). There aren't any more from that period who I can remember bar Princess Paula, and I certainly wouldn't class her as a terrible manager.

Just wanted to say I'm slowly working through a backlog of these (3 to 4 hours a pop!) and the interviews are absolutely tremendous. The wrap arounds are fascinating too.

The length initially was a turnoff for me, but once acquainted with the SuperUniverse (Sue the Shooter and Orgasmic Larry being particular highlights) time flies.
