Terry Funk vs. Cougar Jay (6/15/89)

This show was taped in Augusta, Georgia and my god Cougar gets destroyed here. Again we need a Terry Funk TV match collection on this set. Funk's personality in 1989 was as chaotic as anyone in wrestling history. After the match, Funk cuts a great promo on Flair talking about dreaming of Flair being run over by a girl. This is amazing. Rick & Scott Steiner vs. Fred Avery & Keith Steinborn (6/15/89)

Missy coming to the ring with fans trying to touch her was something. Robin Green was there and she hugged up on Rick before the match. Steiners look amazing here throwing around these big men.

Next we get a promo from Paul E. about the Roadies causing the SST to lose to the MX at the Clash and he wants serious revenge.

The Samoan Swat Team (Fatu & Samu) vs. Mike Awesome & Rock Hard Rick (6/15/89)

Mike Awesome!!!!! as a jobber and with short hair wearing Hogan's gear no less. SST just destroy these guys as Paul E. screams out this is war.

The Fabulous Freebirds (Jimmy "Jam" Garvin & Michael "PS" Hayes) vs. "Ravishing" Randy Rose & Mark Smith (6/15/89)

Garvin's WCW return as he was the surprise Freebird at the Clash. Rose gets some shine on the new Birds but that doesn't last long as Garvin & Hayes take care of business easily.

Then we get clips of Eddie Gilbert throwing a fireball at the Clash intended for Muta but it hit Trent Knight instead. Gary Hart & Muta then cut a promo about how Gilbert has created a lot of trouble for himself now explaining that Muta hates fire because of what it did to his father.

The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) vs. Jim Bryant & Jeff James (6/15/89)

Very strong squash for the MX here.

Norman the Lunatic vs. Bob Emory (6/15/89)

Norman makes his WCW debut here and he destroyed Emory then bit him after the match. Teddy has to use the key to his old cell to get him off of him.

The Roadies cut a taped promo next about their feud with the SST saying that wherever the SST is the Roadies won't be far behind them and they better watch out.

Next we get clips of the Luger heel turn from the Clash which is followed by a live promo from Luger talking about why he did what he did. Luger said that Steamer was a victim of circumstance and he was tired of pleasing the fans instead of pleasing himself. Luger said that he is the new dirtiest player in the game not Flair. Awesome heel promo by Luger here and this is extra material.

Ranger Ross vs. Lee Scott (6/15/89)

Scott tries to give Ross a fight and of course takes a crazy bump from the ring to the floor. Ross ends it with the Combat Kick for another good win.

The Varsity Club (Mike Rotundo & Kevin Sullivan) vs. Ray Lloyd & Bucky Seigler (6/15/89)

The VC steamroll through these guys.

Cornette and the MX join Ross next for a promo talking about Paul E. costing them the NWA World Tag Titles. Cornette then brings out Dr. Death and now they have someone watching their back and will help them take out the Freebirds. Doc then cuts a promo on the VC & Gordy and he plans on taking him out.

NWA World TV Title: Sting © vs. Al Green (6/15/89)

Yes it's that Al Green with hair here who mocks Sting to start the match and he eats a Scorpion Deathlock not too long after that. Terry Funk runs out after the match and gets in Sting's face wanting to fight then leaves the ring quickly and goes away.

Then we get a taped promo from the Freebirds with the NWA World Tag Titles talking about this version of the Birds is the best ever.

Terry "Bamm Bamm" Gordy vs. "Dr. Death" Steve Williams (6/15/89)

Always love when these two faced off against each other. Doc runs out and sends Gordy scurrying out of the ring and they have a wild brawl on the floor. This is nothing but punches in bunches and hard hitting action. Gordy takes over and drops Doc with a big backdrop driver but Doc comes firing back and this is nothing but a hoss battle. Gordy was a beast here though throwing a wicked headbutt as well as clotheslines and just taking it to Doc. Williams comes back with a big clothesline of his own and he has Gordy reeling before Michael Hayes shows up to distract Nick Patrick as Garvin trips up Doc as he had Gordy in the Oklahoma Stampede. Cornette runs out next and the Birds go for him but Doc & MX make the save. New Zealand Militia then run out then the Dynamic Dudes and we got a wild brawl with others running out as well. This was done to set up the 2 ring battle royals on the Bash tour. Really fun stuff watching everyone fight. I was hoping for more from Gordy & Doc though.
