The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) & "Dr. Death" Steve Williams vs. Fred Avery, Jeff James, & Keith Steinborn (6/21/89)

Hayes talks shit to Cornette at ringside as the MX takes care of business in the ring then Doc comes down and tells Hayes to shut his mouth. Garvin & Gordy come out to join Hayes at commentary as the faces finish the match then Cornette grabs the mic and tells the Birds to have match right there and then. Hayes & Cornette then have a fun verbal battle and Cornette calls Gordy yellow which saw Garvin & Gordy go in the ring for a brawl but Hayes couldn't go since he was working as an announcer. Doc then holds Hayes off on the floor as the MX get a pin on the Birds with Tommy Young counting the pin. The Birds then demand a match against the MX with Ross telling them to do it tonight which Hayes agrees to the match. Extra material.

NWA World TV Title: Sting © vs. Chance Myers (6/21/89)

Sting wins here in less than 30 seconds with the Scorpion Deathlock and he joins Ross after the match for a promo about Luger which shocked him at the time and he was disappointed. Luger then comes out and said that he can't believe that Sting is upset with him since they are winners. Luger then acts like a complete douchebag talking about how he made Sting and taught him how to be a man of the world. Sting said that Luger makes him sick and walks off. Luger said that he is sick of hearing about the children and he is tired of people interrupting his lifestyle and he is done with the fans. Luger then rips on Steamer and his family before taking his shirt off and flexes. Definite extra material.

NWA World Tag Titles: The Fabulous Freebirds (Jimmy "Jam" Garvin & Michael "PS" Hayes) © vs. The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) (6/21/89)

Good back and forth action start as both teams got a chance to shine but the MX were the most dominant. Hayes would chunk Eaton to the floor and he went crashing hard into the steel railing on the floor but Eaton came back up and nailed Hayes with a missile dropkick off the top rope. Eaton looked awesome here throwing some great punches and showed some great babyface fire and Lane was good at slowing it down. Garvin would grab Lane's hair as he ran the ropes pulling him down and that allowed the Birds to take control. We would get a double collision which allowed Lane to tag in Eaton who cleaned house on the Birds before Lane joined in for the 4-way brawl. Eaton also decks Gordy who hits Eaton as he went up top and Eaton went fucking flying in the air right into the steel railing and the MX lost by countout. That was a scary ass spot there and a fun finish. I'm throwing this up on the block as a low-end nomination because I dug the match but the finish sets it off.

The Steiners, Robin Green, & Missy Hyatt come out and Rick gives her some flowers which Scott said it was the neighbor's flowers. Extra material.

Rick & Scott Steiner vs. Snake Brown & Cruel Connection (George South) (6/21/89)

As the match starts, Rotundo & Sullivan run out and tore up Steiners flowers throwing them in Robin's face. Rick then took out his aggression on the jobbers when he got in the ring.

Terry Funk comes out next and cuts an awesome promo about Flair returning next week and how he will be the next world champion. Extra material.

Eddie Gilbert comes out next and he announces that Tommy "Wildfire" Rich is back and Rich comes out wearing a suit talking about how he is back and he wants a piece of Luger, Funk, or whoever. Ross then talks to Gilbert about throwing fire with clips of him burning Trent Knight at the Clash shown again. Gary Hart then comes out and Gilbert demands Muta show up with Hart calling Missy a bimbo forcing Gilbert to attack him. Muta then sprayed Gilbert in the eyes with red mist and attacked him with the kendo stick as the show went off the air. Hot angle and extra material.

This show starts with clips from the Gilbert/Muta angle from last week.

The Great Muta vs. Italian Stallion (6/21/89)

Center Stage cult hero Muta is here and the fans are going nuts chanting to the music. Stallion gets some offense in here but Muta caught him with a thrust to the throat to win the match. Muta then used the kendo stick on Stallion after the match. The one thing about Muta that was so great was he had many different finishers that were credible.

Next we go to a press conference at CNN Center with Jim Herd & Ric Flair where Flair announced that he is not retiring and that he wants Terry Funk at the Great American Bash PPV in Baltimore on 7/23. Funk then shows up with Ross and Funk finds out that he will be wrestling Flair at the Bash so he is heading to the airport. Funk is great here. Definite extra.

Jim Ross interviews the Steiners next about what happened with Robin Green last week with Rick saying that he is going to beat the hell out of Sullivan. Then we get clips of what happened last week.

Rick & Scott Steiner vs. Mike Awesome & Rock Hard Rick (6/21/89)

The Steiners & Missy lead Rick's pitbull out and here is young Mike Awesome in Hogan colors getting killed by the Steiners again. This also may be the first time that Ross refereneced a "Steinerline" and Scotty using the moonsault slam which was something else.

The Samoan Swat Team (Fatu & Samu) vs. Trent Knight & Lee Scott (6/21/89)

Paul E. gets on the mic before the match talking shit on the Roadies and how Ellering is in the hospital thanks to the SST. The SST proceed to destroy these guys and break the pineapple over Knight's head after the match. This is the definitive Lee Scott match as he takes the insanely high bump on a backdrop then gets nailed by a clothesline landing right on his head.

Tommy "Wildfire" Rich vs. Wild Bill Irwin (6/21/89)

Rich makes his return to TBS after 4 years and funny to see him against Irwin who he feuded with 6 years earlier. Irwin takes it to Rich early on here and this is a competitive match as Rich gives as good as he gets. Rich wins with the Thesz Press which made the fans happy.

The Skyscrapers (Danny Spivey & Sid Vicious) vs. Ray Lloyd & Mark Smith (6/21/89)

This is the WCW debut for the Skyscrapers and they totally destroy these guys. Ross explains that Teddy basically bought these guys from Gary Hart. Norman then runs out of the ring as the Skyscrapers spike powerbomb both men after the match.

Ric Flair makes a surprise appearance next live on the set as the crowd goes nuts telling everyone that he is back to stay. Flair said that Terry Funk's ass will be kicked in Baltimore at the Bash. Definite extra.
