World Championship Wrestling 11/18/89

Samoan Savage & The Samoan Swat Team (Fatu & Samu) vs. Bob Emory, Mike Justice, & Lee Scott (11/1/89)

Total domination by the Samoans.

Next we get a taped promo from the Steiners about their feud with Doom and their match with the Freebirds later in the show for the NWA World Tag Titles. This promo is something else.

Then we get a taped promo from Woman & Doom where she said that she has the toughest team in the NWA and they will do her bidding. She said she took Rick's heart now she wants his soul.

Flyin Brian Pillman vs. Lou Taffiloni (11/1/89)

Good ol Lou here is Louie Spicolli working as a job guy that gets some offense in but still takes the falls. Pillman looks really good here winning with Air Pillman.

The Skyscrapers (Danny Spivey & Sid Vicious) vs. Bill Ford & Pat Rose (11/1/89)

Teddy Long cuts an inset promo before the match talking about the beatdown of Dr. Death the previous week and that more are coming. The Skyscrapers destroyed these guys.

Next we get a taped promo from the Dynamic Dudes who couldn't believe Jim Cornette turned on them at the Clash.

Doom #1 (Ron Simmons) vs. Jerry Price (11/1/89)

Another strong win for Doom.

"Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer vs. Trent Knight (11/1/89)

Mad Dog makes his return to TBS after 4 years and he's with Gary Hart. Buzz just mauls Knight in a long brutal squash.

Then we get a promo from Kevin Sullivan who said that he is going to survive the Doom/Steiners feud no matter what.

Kevin Sullivan vs. Tommy Angel (11/1/89)

Sullivan brutalizes poor Angel here but give Angel a ton of credit for bringing a fight as well.

NWA World Tag Titles: The Fabulous Freebirds (Jimmy "Jam" Garvin & Michael "PS" Hayes) © vs. Rick & Scott Steiner (11/1/89)

The Birds don't dance or fool around before the match so they are taking this seriously. Steiners held the advantage early on but a quick left from Hayes changed the dynamic as the Birds soon took over. Rick gets sent to the floor and the Birds start roughing him up trying to weaken him. Scott would get the tag and he would start taking it to Garvin but he was distracted by Woman who showed up at ringside allowing the Birds to regroup. We come back from break and the Birds now are beating on Scott because of Woman's distraction and this is a good FIP segment with Rick getting the crowd going and chanting for Scott who had some good hope spots. Rick would finally get the hot tag and he ran wild on Hayes before it turns into a 4-way brawl where Rick caught Hayes in a powerslam then Hayes came off the top rope on Hayes allowing Rick to get the pin. Steiners winning the belts was the obvious right decision and I loved the faces coming out to celebrate with them after the match. Jim Ross then goes to the ring to interview the new champs and they made this a big deal. This goes on the block as a low-end nomination.

NWA Main Event 11/19/89

"Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer vs. Bill Ford (11/6/89)

Sawyer just destroyed Ford here and won by countout after suplexing him very hard on the floor.

Next we get a taped promo by Cornette & the MX about turning on the Dynamic Dudes and Cornette is back as a heel ripping up on the fans saying it's their fault they aren't champions. This is good stuff and extra material.

Flair cuts a taped promo next talking about the upcoming Iron Man deal at Starrcade and how he still has to fight off Muta & Luger.

Then we get clips of the Steiners winning the belts from the Freebirds the day before on WCW.

Gary Hart & Dragon Master cut a promo next about Terry Funk being an American and that's why he quit because Americans are basically mongoloids. Hart talks about how the Japanese are tougher in their minds than Americans. Extra material.

Flyin Brian Pillman & Sting vs. The New Zealand Militia (Rip Morgan & Jack Victory) (11/6/89)

Sting outsmarts the Militia a good bit at the start and when the Militia try to double up on him Pillman runs in and helps him clear the ring. Pillman & Sting continue to get the best of the Militia until Morgan nailed Pillman from behind on the apron. Militia worked over Pillman for a bit before Victory missed a big diving elbow off the top rope and Pillman got the hot tag to Sting. It soon became a 4-way brawl before Sting caught Morgan with a reverse cross body block to win. After the match, Lord Littlebrook showed up and got in the ring to talk to the Militia with Lance Russell not even knowing who he was. Littlebrook was reading them the riot act and he is going to show them the way.

Then we get a taped promo from Sting who goes off on Luger saying that he slapped him in the face but Luger didn't do anything about it. Luger then cuts a promo in response about jumping Flair & Sting at the Clash and beating Pillman as well.
