Posted August 3, 20169 yr comment_5761410 Ranger Ross vs. Pat Rose (11/16/89)Ross looks very good here beating down Rose as Norman the Lunatic comes out with his big teddy bear slapping hands with the fans then talks to Sullivan. Teddy Long comes out and tries to take Norman away then he throws him down a couple of times. Norman then took the key and the match was still going on with Ross eventually hitting the Combat Kick to win. This needs to be an extra because of the Norman deal.Jim Cornette and the MX are out next talking about their match with the Dynamic Dudes later in the show where he rips them up saying that the MX is going to end them. Cornette also talks about Flair vs. Eaton being on Main Event the next night.Rick & Scott Steiner vs. Brodie Chase & Rick Fargo (11/16/89)Scott cuts an inset promo before the match talking about wanting Doom the most at Starrcade. Rick wore his belt inside the ring and even used it at one point. Steiners totally dominated here but the Frankensteiner got fucked up so Scott used the Belly-To-Belly to win. The best part was that they showed the fuckup on replay.Doom (Butch Reed & Ron Simmons) vs. Ricky Nelson & Jason Walker (11/16/89)Doom just mauls these guys in Minnesota Wrecking Crew like fashion as they destroyed Walker's left arm.Next we get clips of Flair/Muta followed up by a promo from Flair with Ross talking about his match with Muta last week and how this is a new war. Flair said that he will have the biggest surprise ever next week for Gary Hart and his boys. Definite extra.US Heavyweight Title: "Total Package" Lex Luger © vs. Pablo Crenshaw (11/16/89)Luger told Ross before the match that he was going to defend against a top contender and it's Crenshaw. Luger's wearing a robe that would make Hector "Macho" Camacho proud. The fans chant for Sting very loudly but he's not coming out. Luger is such a pompous ass and the methodically picks Crenshaw apart and has Pablo in the rack before Sting runs out. Luger starts taking it to Sting before he made a comeback then went for the Stinger Splash but Luger ducked out. Luger came back in though but it wasn't long before Luger ducked out again. Extra material. Then we get a taped promo from Sting talking about Starrcade 89.Sting vs. Dan Devine (11/16/89)Dan Devine is an unpainted up Danny Davis which was interesting and he does a really good job of making Sting look great. The New Zealand Militia (Rip Morgan & Jack Victory) vs. Carl Nelson & Mike Thor (11/16/89)Lord Littlebrook cuts an inset promo before the match saying that he was going to lead the Militia to victory. The Militia look very dominant here.Next we get a promo from the Roadies talking about how they were impressed by the Skyscrapers but Doom thinks they are bullies coming out with a woman which is funny. The Dynamic Dudes (Johnny Ace & Shane Douglas) vs. The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) (11/16/89)The Dudes jump the MX as soon as they come out and this is a total fight as they try and get Cornette too. Eaton & Lane are wearing black gloves on their right hands but it doesn't do them much good to start as the Dudes send them running. The gloves came off as the match started and the Dudes were in control with the MX bumping all over for them. Cornette would distract Nick Patrick so Eaton could send Shane over the top rope to the floor then used a steel chair on him and Cornette punched him right in the mouth for good measure. Bobby would miss the Alabama Jam and that allowed Shane to get the hot tag and he ran wild on the MX before Shane joined in. Ace decked Cornette and Lane took the racquet and nailed Ace in the back for the DQ. Shane grabbed the racquet but he got nailed by Bobby and the fight continued afterwards before the MX left. This was a fun segment.Buzz Sawyer talks to Jim Ross next about Ric Flair's big surprise and all he wants is some Japanese yen. Gary Hart then said that Flair's surprise should be that he is going to retire from wrestling. The Dragon Master, The Great Muta, & "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer vs. Mike Hart, Tim Hughes, & Larry Santo (11/16/89)Total squash.
