Posted August 5, 20169 yr comment_5761643 Flyin Brian Pillman & The Z-Man vs. The Fabulous Freebirds (Jimmy "Jam" Garvin & Michael "PS" Hayes) (12/10/89)This is a continuation from the end of last week. The faces really take it to the Birds early on until Z-Man ate a big left from Hayes on the apron as he was sprung off an O'Connor Roll. Z-Man went tumbling to the floor where Hayes followed with a Bulldog on the floor and the Birds turn up the aggression here. Z-Man is in trouble and the Birds heckle Pillman for good measure but Z-Man fights back and after a double collision gets the hot tag to Pillman who runs wild on the Birds with dropkicks. Z-Man would join the fun and the faces have the Birds in trouble as Pillman jumped up top but Garvin shook the ropes and Pillman crashed and burned with Nick Patrick calling for the DQ. The Birds doubled up Z-Man after the match and went for a spike DDT but Pillman cleaned house. This was fun but not a nomination."Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer vs. Larry Santo (12/10/89)Total squash for Sawyer.Norman the Lunatic vs. Mike Thor (12/10/89)Norman has his camera around his neck before the match and Thor gets some shots in on him but Norman would maul him into victory soon enough.Next we get a taped promo from the Horsemen with Flair saying that there is a spot open and their eyes are set on Sting. Arn said that since the Horsemen left the scene there has been parity but it's time for parity to end. Extra material."The Enforcer" Arn Anderson vs. Bob Cook (12/10/89)Arn shakes hands with Cook early on as a sign of respect but he turns it up after Cook nailed Arn hard with a right hand. Arn made him pay dearly for that one then puts him away with the Spinebuster. It's a shame we didn't get more babyface Arn in this era because he was awesome at it.Then we get a taped promo from Tommy Rich talking about his lumberjack match with Mike Rotundo and how Kendall Windham attacked him so he wants revenge. The Wild Samoans (Fatu & Samoan Savage) vs. Brodie Chase & Mike Hart (12/10/89)Samu is no longer teaming with Fatu and Savage takes his spot and these jobbers have no chance. There is a spot during the match where Fatu dropped Hart right on his head on a botched backbreaker which looked extremely nasty.Next we get clips of Luger/Sting from last week and then Luger is with Jim Ross talking about Luger & Flair having a future match with Luger saying it has been a long year since he had a shot at Flair and now he has it. Luger then said that he calls the shots in the NWA now not Flair and it doesn't matter what belt the man holds it's who holds the belt.Shane Douglas vs. Jim Cornette (12/14/89)This match originally happened in Greensboro but there was a lot of controversy about the match so they had to retape the match in Peoria 4 days later because Shane didn't want to be seen on TV jobbing to Cornette. Well Stan Lane took Cornette's spot and we get a bad match with lots of foolishness and Cornette ends up getting pinned. We need this as extra material for the MX/Dudes feud.Tommy "Wildfire" Rich & Ranger Ross vs. Nasty Ned Brady & Cactus Jack Manson (12/10/89)Good spotlight match for Rich & Ross and Cactus gets to show some of his crazy stuff. Cactus beats up Nasty Ned afterwards and does the Cactus Clothesline which was crazy then hits the big elbow off the apron. The fans loved this.Rick & Scott Steiner vs. Rick Fargo & Bill Ford (12/10/89)Steiners manhandle these guys.Sting vs. The Dragon Master (12/10/89)The Andersons come out to ringside to subdue Gary Hart & Buzz Sawyer and that was the story of the match as they were keeping everything in the ring or at least trying to as Sawyer was able to sneak a cheapshot in as the Andersons were distracted. Dragon Master got a lot of offense in on Sting but Sting comes back with an inside cradle to win. Andersons jump in the ring after the match and Sawyer wants to fight in the worst way but Gary Hart flags them off. Then we get a promo from the Andersons talking about their war with J-Tex and that Arn is ready to come back to the Omni to handle business.
