Posted August 14, 20169 yr comment_5763376 I think this counts as "modern" since it's on Youtube. Anyway, I spent the morning putting together these playlists for your convenience. With the explosion of 70-80s WWF house shows on Youtube (thanks to landy1987, the Wrestling Collector, and some others) I thought I would organize them by arena and in chronological order. I've started with the Big 3--MSG, Spectrum and Boston Garden. I'll add more arena playlists later. Enjoy while it lasts. WWF MSG WWF Spectrum WWF Boston Garden
August 14, 20169 yr comment_5763380 Maple Leaf Gardens?? But, yeah, holy shit this is awesome! Thanks!
August 14, 20169 yr comment_5763393 This is great! Thank you very much for these. Watching MSG 4/24/89, and man, what a trip it is to hear the team of Tony Schiavone and Lord Alfred calling the matches.
August 15, 20169 yr comment_5763402 If anyone is looking at this stuff and planning to watch it later, I'd advise downloading it as you can never be too sure how long stuff like this is going to actually stay up on youtube.
August 15, 20169 yr comment_5763532 Is there a best way to grab a whole playlist in one go? JDownloader - you can grab entire channels, too.

August 16, 20169 yr Author comment_5763597 Having just watched it I realize why it hasn't been pimped. Pretty by-the-numbers stuff. Interesting that the Toronto match the next day was so different

August 17, 20169 yr comment_5763708 Has anyone seen the Savage vs Steamboat match from this show that was just uploaded? I think their epic Toronto match was the next day. Can't say I recall anyone ever talking about this one I've been working on a book reviewing every Savage match available (save for some bog standard squashes and some stuff we thought existed but couldn't find), and although it wasn't me reviewing those two matches specifically, the ratings jumped from ***1/4 to ****1/2 for those two matches. Of all of their singles matches together, if you take WrestleMania out of the equation, Toronto is by far the best one. Most of the others would be considered "good" to "really good", but Toronto is great.

Thanks anyway. 4k Video Downloader is what I use -- I think it is free for playlists up to 25 videos or something, but I've been using the paid version for a while as I like the option to subscribe to a channel and have it auto-download for me and such.

Funnily enough, I have this but my version seems to have given up the ghost somewhat. Maybe I'll have a tinker and see what I can do. Cheers.
August 30, 20169 yr comment_5765753 Just want to say thanks for this, I'm having a lot of fun going through early 80's house shows. New York territorial footage has never been a huge priority for me but this makes it so easy to follow and I'm enjoying things a lot more than I thought I would.

September 11, 20169 yr comment_5767504 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eu6pvS_jSD0 This is a great show building up to WM 3. Not only do we get the build up promos showing Hulk was supposed to team with Andre before the turn we get the original Demolition with Randy Colley, and a six man with Blackjack Mulligan teaming with the US Express (who I thought were gone by this time).
September 12, 20169 yr comment_5767786 I wanted to include those first few Piper's Pits setting up the Hogan/Andre feud in my Meadowlands video but they kept getting blocked so I had to just stick to the matches from the show. Would there be any interest if I did another TV taping video like this using all the matches available from a certain taping?
May 31, 20178 yr Author comment_5802593 Looks like the end is nigh for the 80s house show uploads as some vids are finally being taken down. Things may continue underground...the rebellion must continue!
May 31, 20178 yr comment_5802594 I really enjoyed the house show with Bruno vs Patera and Backlund vs Larry. Also, the History of the WWF Title CV is really fun when Heenan is commentating on an Ivan Koloff match or whatever.
June 1, 20178 yr comment_5802607 I feared Landy was flying too close to the sun when he started posting Coliseum Video stuff last week, that seems to be the death knell on all of the fun.
