January 9, 200619 yr comment_4278541 I could see Texans taking VY instead of Bush, but only if Texans have given up on Carr.
January 9, 200619 yr comment_4278905 There's an $8 million bonus that's saying Carr's not going anywhere. Or, he could retire with that buyout that sets him up for a healthy future.
January 9, 200619 yr comment_4278921 It sounds crazy, but if I was Carr I'd consider it. The Texans aren't going to be getting any better in the forseeable future no matter who they draft, and Carr's life is in danger on almost every snap. He's probably taken more of a beating already than most QBs have over a 10 year career.
January 9, 200619 yr comment_4278947 Actually, if the Texans were to take Young, they'd pay Carr's bonus and then ditch him. Considering he'd get 8 mil either way, I'd say that's nice. And yeah, the Texans gotta do something about that o-line. Yikes.
January 9, 200619 yr comment_4278974 The Texans will pick up an $8 million option on quarterback David Carr, who was the expansion team's first draft pick four years ago. Texans owner Bob McNair made the decision after getting extensive evaluations from various sources that strongly endorsed Carr, including a favorable report from Dan Reeves, the former longtime NFL coach hired last month as a consultant. I was thinking Titans as well while watching the Rose Bowl.
January 9, 200619 yr comment_4278985 The real question is who's gonna talk Matt Leinart off the ledge if the Saints select him?
January 9, 200619 yr comment_4278990 He'll be a Titan. Titans have Volek. They shouldn't be drafting somebody when Volek has shown he can do a good job running the show.
January 9, 200619 yr comment_4279006 I was going to suggest he might end up with the Raiders, but I see Marcus Vick decided to go pro since he got kicked out.
January 9, 200619 yr comment_4279772 The real question is who's gonna talk Matt Leinart off the ledge if the Saints select him? Actually, Leinart would be coming into the best situation if he went to the Saints talent-wise on offense, but whatever.
January 9, 200619 yr comment_4279776 He'll be a Titan.Titans have Volek. They shouldn't be drafting somebody when Volek has shown he can do a good job running the show. Considering HOU goes Bush and NO goes Leinart, he'll be a Titan. Trust me. Him and McNair have a father-son relationship. He'll ride the pine.
January 9, 200619 yr comment_4281040 After the Rose Bowl, Tennessee will say "Volek who?" I agree with Flyboy that the Saints is the best situation for Matt Leinart. I seem to remember a certain USC QB a few years ago that won a Heisman trophy getting drafted to a crappy team. Whatever happened to him? Oh yeah he is among the league's leaders in passing stats and took said crappy team to a divisional title. Matt can do the same with Joe and Donte catching balls and handing off to Deuce.
January 9, 200619 yr comment_4281815 Saints aren't even that bad of a team, despite their record. Aren't their biggest issues QB and defense? I can see Dallas trading up for Vince Young.

Why did they bother re-upping Volek when they aren't gonna start him? Its the only reason why he stayed. He's gonna make a huge stink about it come this season or the next. Whenever VY starts over him. Saints aren't even that bad of a team, despite their record. Aren't their biggest issues QB and defense?Add in the relocation as well, and maybe Saints wouldn't be half bad for Leinhart.
January 9, 200619 yr comment_4281941 Why do you constantly misspell Matt Leinart's name when it's been spelled correctly in all threads? They also signed Volek because they didn't know Young would declare and they needed insurance for when McNair makes his annual trip to the injury list.
January 9, 200619 yr comment_4282037 I spell it the way I spell it cause I'm not good with names. I don't care if there's threads that have it spelled correctly or what not, since I'm not good with names, it can be staring me in the FACE and I'll still spell it wrong. I should correct that, its just people's names. And the question of why re-sign him was rhetorical, as I made mention if VY signs, he'll definitely be vocal about it. In response to the other half of the question asked in the first post, I can't honestly say how VY will make an impact till I know what team he's on. What he'll have to work with will allow me to get better insight into that.

Yes, for the most part it is. And, our front office not dumb coaching. Hopefully all will be fixed in the off-season. ... Dallas ain't trading up.
