August 26, 20223 yr comment_5988792 Considering the prospects of Fred Ottman in a glittery stormtrooper helmet gimmick, I'm convinced him falling down was probably the best possible outcome.

August 27, 20223 yr comment_5988824 I was watching some 1988 Demolition matches, and I noticed Smash wears his elbow pad over his eagle tattoo on his left arm. Do you suppose he had seen the fate that befell Randy Culley and was doing everything to avoid being recognised as a Russian?
August 27, 20223 yr comment_5988830 I was just always under the impression Vince didn't want people to realize Smash was Krusher Kruschev about a half year prior.
August 27, 20223 yr comment_5988831 That's nothing compared to what John Tenta did in WCW. He had his tiger tattoo (because he went to LSU) changed to a shark to fit his Dungeon of Doom gimmick. Talk about going the extra mile.
August 27, 20223 yr comment_5988834 Maybe he just switched allegiance to uhhhh [frantic Googling] Long Island University
August 29, 20223 yr comment_5988901 Today I found out Kevin Nash was SHOOT STABBED during The Punisher. What the fuck.
August 29, 20223 yr comment_5988903 This is the most carny I've seen in one photo in a long time. (The guy next to Jeff is Dorian Roldan from AAA btw)
August 30, 20223 yr comment_5988979 I wondered why Samuel Shaw's theme from TNA, which was great, seemed somewhat familiar. Well, it just occurred to me that it actually was... Pro-wrestling needs more of this.
August 31, 20223 yr comment_5989005 Shoutout to WrestlingTravel for refunding my $3500 WrestleMania 39 downpayment, unprompted and in full. Turns out selling packages two years out can be royally fucked up by 10+% global inflation. Looks like they're not offering any packages at all. So full credit to them. In such a shitty industry full of conmen and carnies, it's good to know there's still some good guys floating around.
September 8, 20223 yr comment_5990122 Had no luck looking around for it a few weeks back but I figured I'd ask here on the anniversary of his death: is there footage of that Brian Hildebrand/Mark Curtis benefit show from '99 floating around somewhere, preferably on the internet?
September 9, 20223 yr comment_5990161 You think he'll end up on WWE or AEW? More importantly, are his Boys coming with him?

As per Henry Klimkowski (Hank Hudson - the ring announcer for the event): Quote Unfortunately, no!!! There were no taping cameras allowed as a condition of having all these wrestlers from rival organizations together on one card!!!

September 9, 20223 yr comment_5990169 I don't know, the injury rates in WWE and AEW don't seem too far apart to me. You can't really get away with not bumping in either company, which is bad news when you have back issues like Castle does.
September 9, 20223 yr comment_5990194 So it looks like that massive doofus Devon “Hannibal” Nicholson was arrested and just got out on bail today. That guy is one of Pro Wrestling’s biggest scumbags, I almost considered devoting a thread to him, but it feels too much like giving him attention he does not deserve.
September 14, 20223 yr comment_5990504 Its been mentioned but it still seems like it's being undersold that it's pretty much been confirmed that Patrick Clark's firing (and the weird non reaction his last match from the crowd of PC trainees) was due to his pecker-checker cam in EC3's bathroom rather than him sliding in the DMs of some young boy. They apparently were ok with him being a creep until it happened to them.
September 14, 20223 yr comment_5990505 I guess their thought process was that him basically being a creepy fuck in their locker room was much easier to prove. Would probably explain why they decided to keep Theory despite similar allegations against him.
September 14, 20223 yr comment_5990515 I had some weird random thought recently: "I am sure that someone made a list with the 'best' wrestler per US state". Googling found a couple of lists but I first did not take them seriously as the listed for example Kenny Kaos (of High Voltage "fame") as the best Alaskan wrestler or Torrie Wilson as the number one export of Idaho. I mean Idaho has a population of two million people (and had 1 million thirty years ago), so that there had to be some decent notable wrestlers from that state in the last couple of decades but nope. If you search for "Idaho" in cagematch, you find 23 people listed and the only somewhat notable person on the list besides Wilson is Vince Lopez who seemed to have a good career spanning from the mid 1930s to the late 1950s (mostly based on the west coast). There are also other states that don't give you much to work with. Looking at Vermont for example, the only names I recognize are Vivian Vachon, EC Negro and KC Blade. And to go back to Alaska, cagematch does not come up with anyone worthy of any kind of list (besides some fake Alaskans like Jay and Mike York).
September 15, 20223 yr comment_5990524 Lopez had a share of the world championship so I’d say he’s deserving there. Vermont had John McMahon who while being a VERY deep cut was easily one of the top five of the Civil War era.

They either bought her off or determined it wasn’t credible.
