Posted December 14, 20168 yr comment_5778681 Hello all, just looking for a bit of guidance in an area I am woefully inept at. In 1984, what would be considered the 'big' shows for each main territory? Some are self explanatory, but my lack of knowledge about wrestling markets and US geography doesn't help. WWF: MSG, Boston Garden Memphis: Mid-South Coliseum (though they run it every week IIRC) The groups I'm mainly looking for are (in addition to adding to the WWF list, as I'm sure there are more): Mid-South WCCW MACW GCW AWA I'm not sure if all of them can be broken down in the same way as WWF can, but thought I'd at least ask. Thanks for any and all help.
December 14, 20168 yr comment_5778693 For the WWF, the Philadelphia Spectrum would be a bigger show than the Boston Garden. For GCW, the big shows were their cards at the Omni in Atlanta.
December 15, 20168 yr comment_5778696 WCCW's bigger shows were usually in Reunion Arena, and they had a few supershows at the Cotton Bowl.
December 15, 20168 yr comment_5778710 For WCCW, some of their bigger shows would be tagged "Star Wars" (i.e. "Christmas Star Wars"). The AWA's biggest shows in terms of attendance would be the St. Paul Civic Center and the Rosemont Horizon, plus you could make a case for them sending title matches to big shows in Japan or Quebec, and Salt Lake City regularly did good numbers (just a shade under 10,000). They were also running the Cow Palace but the numbers were fairly anaemic.

Cheers for all the help so far guys, appreciate it.
December 24, 20168 yr comment_5779963 WWF - msg, Philly spectrum, Boston garden, Meadowlands, cap centre ... by 84 they were running LA (Olympic Auditorium) and St. Louis (Kiel) also. MACW - Greensboro (final conflict, starrcade) Georgia - Omni AWA - they ran big shows in Chicago co-promoted with Dick the Bruiser's WWA, although by 84 I don't know how big those shows were. Also: St Paul Civic Center, Minneapolis Metrodome Mid-South - New Orleans Superdome WCCW - Dallas Sportatorium Florida - St Petersburg, Bayfront Center Central States - Kansas (Memorial Hall)
December 24, 20168 yr comment_5779965 World Class promoted several Star Wars shows on major American holidays. The ones on Independence Day and Labor Day were held at the Fort Worth Convention Center while the Thanksgiving and Christmas ones were held at Reunion Arena. In addition, they had the David Von Erich Memorial Parade of Champions on the first Sunday of May at Texas Stadium and the Cotton Bowl Extravaganza in October.
