February 13, 20178 yr comment_5788263 The first half of Orton-Harper was pretty flat. The finishing stretch, from those superbly timed superkicks on, was excellent.
February 13, 20178 yr comment_5788267 So the set up for a wrestlemania match involving John Cena is Nikki Bella accidentally throwing makeup powder in Maryse's face
February 13, 20178 yr comment_5788272 A couple of ugly missed spots at the end of the Alexa-Naomi match. But it was fine, like the rest of the show.
February 13, 20178 yr comment_5788273 Not sure what to make of the finish (multi-woman match at Mania, I reckon), but Bliss-Naomi over-delivered. Bliss has been surprisingly tough since NXT, and she was a hell of a heel here. Her nearfall reactions to the ref reminded me of Flair or Gino, actually. Everything on this show's been more entertaining that it needed to be for a Clash of the Champions two weeks after the Rumble. SD special events have been making use of the brand's interesting roster.
February 13, 20178 yr comment_5788275 So am I looking at this right but can you actually climb out of the chamber. The top looks like that awful TNA match that ruin Homicide's career
February 13, 20178 yr comment_5788276 Bliss has developed into a pretty good Honky Tonk Man. Way better than Honky!!! Packs quite the punch. She is fierce and nasty. Honky did not have the mean streak of ALEXA.
February 13, 20178 yr comment_5788279 Mysterio was the greatest Elimination Chamber performer ever, but I could see AJ being right there with him.
February 13, 20178 yr comment_5788281 Think they also replaced the steel mesh that was around the ring but not sure with what. Remember those bumps on them looked painful in the original version
February 13, 20178 yr comment_5788282 Think they also replaced the steel mesh that was around the ring but not sure with what. Remember those bumps on them looked painful in the original version From the look & sound of it they're now using some kind of cushioning/mat that's presumably a lot safer.

As AJ takes a sick powerbomb on it.

Even if it's just flat board, it looks way safer to bump on. The stuff on the grate before did not seem like it had a good pain:impressiveness ratio.
February 13, 20178 yr comment_5788285 Kinda loving how they've changed up the Chamber itself - really feels like they've opened up a lot of possibilities.
February 13, 20178 yr comment_5788286 This isn't the first time its been said, nor will it be the last, but it very much feels like this match in particular would benefit *tremendously* from blood. As it is this has been a really great EC match thus far.
February 13, 20178 yr comment_5788288 Well they are trying to replace the blood with these insane bumps from high distances. One of the advantages of this new structure The Miz reaction of complete horror scared as shit is great
February 13, 20178 yr comment_5788289 That's a fantastic way to eliminate Corbin while completely protecting him.
February 13, 20178 yr comment_5788290 So far the theme of tonight is to lose badly but still look strong at the end of the match. Did it with Ziggler kind of and definitely did that with Corbin. I assume we get Ambrose vs Corbin as a WM pre show match
February 13, 20178 yr comment_5788291 I'm not sure if this will be the best Elimination Chamber match ever, but it's doing a hell of a job telling stories with the characters involved.
February 13, 20178 yr comment_5788292 This match has been laid out just about perfectly thus far, particularly the order of entry and how everyone got an appropriate spotlight.
February 13, 20178 yr comment_5788293 I liked the Corbin/Ambrose stuff, but didn't they do did the same thing with Usos and American Alpha earlier in the show? And kind of an anti-climatic elimination of Miz, but really those are the only things to complain about in the match so far, it's been great.
February 13, 20178 yr comment_5788294 Funny how Cena does an AA against the Miz and it actually get the pin and then we go back to Cena's finishers not working unless it is done 3 or 4 times
February 13, 20178 yr comment_5788295 Funny how Cena does an AA against the Miz and it actually get the pin and then we go back to Cena's finishers not working unless it is done 3 or 4 times In kayfabe, Miz is a "not great" wrestler who gets by being arrogant and finding ways to cheat his way to victories. AJ Styles is incredibly tough, incredibly talented, and on a different level then Miz in terms of actual wrestling talent, he's also just a total dick. It makes sense to me.
February 13, 20178 yr comment_5788296 So they put Orton vs Reigns to end the Rumble so that Orton will get a big pop to win. They put Wyatt vs Styles so that he'll get a heel reaction.

Quite clever booking really, even if I didn't love elements of it. I do love that it took Bray about 3 and a half years to beat Cena clean, but he has finally done it.
