Posted February 20, 20178 yr comment_5789008 I'm thinking of finally making an attempt at a deep dive into 80s wrestling. Typically in the past I'd watch a disc or two of the dvdvr sets and lose focus. Then I'd aquire some other comps and YouTube channels and lose focus. I'm finally determined to go all in and cover the good shit. Outside of the great dvdvr 80s sets what are some suggestions on stuff like comps, must see matches, angles, etc. I'd prefer to aquire discs and have a good collection to start with. I have a few comps and a couple years of Bricks sets but am unsure on where else to start
February 20, 20178 yr comment_5789062 Who are wrestlers you like? My top suggestions are to watch Mid-South/UWF from when the Midnights and Rock N Rolls show up through when JCP bought them. Or get something like Pro Wrestling This Week that is a TV show that will expose you to multiple promotions at once.
February 20, 20178 yr Author comment_5789081 I'm trying to spotlight all the key matches, angles and promos from all over. Not just one promotion or wrestler. I have all but a few of the dvdvr sets but never went all in. That's my starting point. I might go in chronological order and pick out all the must see stuff and start a list. I don't know yet
February 20, 20178 yr comment_5789085 Some day I'll get around to setting up a folder of all the matches and extras from the DVDVR sets in chronological order, yearbook style and then fill in the gaps with missing stuff from JCP and WWF. I made a 1979 Yearbook if you want to start there. Send me a PM for details.
February 20, 20178 yr Author comment_5789093 The extras in chronological order withe stuff from Continental, WWF and JCP is exactly what I'm looking for. Georgia and Florida as well. Im going to check out your 79 set. Any chance there is an 80 set in the works. The way you're doing it is just what I'm looking for except the 80s
February 20, 20178 yr comment_5789100 I have 1980 and 1982 in prep but it has been 6 months since I've touched them due to work/relocating. I'll get back on that horse eventually.
February 20, 20178 yr Author comment_5789104 I'd be all in for an 80 and if that and maybe an 81 and 82 was forthcoming I would be all in for 79. I'm a chronological freak for whatever reason
