The 5 minute cruiser tag was awesome. Maybe Nese's best WWE showing, but the timing of everybody was on point.

All I've seen of Raw was that Braun smashing Roman on the ramp gif, and I give that 5 stars.

 

Roman pretty much saying that HBK should back the fuck up with his pep talk because he lost TWICE to Taker and got his ass retired was so good.

Triple H having to get his heat back was annoying but expected. WWE should probably be more concerned with the fact that Seth Rollins got a very weak pop for his run-in.

I thought they had actually started to find their way into salvaging Seth Rollins' babyface run and then he got his ass kicked and now he's back to just being some guy who used to be in a hot stable a couple years ago.

It was amazing watching her go from Miz having to coach her through the story line by line to "THIS IS A SHOOT BROTHER~!"

Miz tv was off the charts great. Great promos all around.

 

And have to admit the AJ beat down on Shane was great. Hey blood on WWE TV!!! Finlay!!!

This Randy Orton/Bray Wyatt storyline has devolved into one of the dumbest angles I can remember. Look at the reception Wyatt got during the first show after winning the title, and compare that to the crickets tonight. Whoever wrote this crap should be fired.

I'm hoping that something changed at the last minute, since it's really depressing to consider the long term payoff to the months long Orton-as-a-Wyatt angle was always meant to be "it was just my master plan all along to pretend to be subservient and give up my title shot for no reason then burn your house down". Because that was like some shit you see when the writer of a comic book gets fired/quits mid story arc.

Are you actually watching the shows or just reading some Scott Keith style "I hate everything" reviews and commenting on the shows off of that? Because they've done a pretty good job of stating the Orton joined The Wyatts because he couldn't beat them on his own, took them down from the inside by splitting up Harper & Bray, then fake gave up the title shot as the last bit of gaining Bray's confidence to get the "keys to the kingdom" which allowed him to burn down the shack which was the "source" of whatever stupid powers Bray has that people pretend make him cool.

I am actually watching the shows, and them going from "I will never face you for the title" to "sike, it was just part of my evil plan" in like a week came off (to me) as them realizing they had less time to get to the end than they realized. I mean for those of us who knew that was the scheduled WM match it was fine, but I'd imagine it was a hard out of nowhere turn for those who don't follow the insider news.

My main objection is to the whole stupid "burning down the barn to destroy the burial place of Sister Abagail" crap. And now Wyatt thinks he's a god, or something.

 

On tonight's Smackdown, on one segment we had Miz and his wife taking shots at Cena and his girlfriend for backstage/insider reasons (which was extremely well done, for what it's worth - and I hate The Miz) but then a couple of segments later we have something straight out of the mid nineties Undertaker storybook. I was having the "Origin of Kane" flashbacks. It's not well written, it's not compelling, it doesn't make me want to see Orton vs. Wyatt more. It's just plain old stupid and makes me want to change the channel. Which next time it's on, I probably will.

I mean, literally ANY heel in human history, if the babyface makes a triumphant surprise return, makes the big reveal that he's healed, goes in and cleans house on said heel...ANY OTHER HEEL would just take it. Run away, head to the back. That's the whole fucking point of being the heel, to take the ass kicking. But not THE ALMIGHTY HUNTOR, he just gets straight back in the ring and beats the shit out of the face. Fucking howled.

 

I'm also really looking forward to Mick Foley vs Steph at Wrestlemania. I mean, that's what ALLLLLLLLLL this time and effort and build is all leading to, right? Something?

Maybe Foley can bring in Maria Menounos to face her?

Yeah. My main issues with it are: You can't have this type of stupid ass angle on the same show where Shane/AJ an Miz/Cena are these 4th wall leaning angles. And you DEFINITELY can't make this the defacto most important feud of the show and allegedly WM. Turning this into a title feud is so wtf I literally can't even comprehend the thought that went into it. It'd be like turning Jake/Rude or Jake/Martel into a title feud. Because in the end, once you make it a title match, it's about the title more than the angle that led to it, so those months put into this out of time angle now become all about the title.

Goofy shit aside, you could almost make this work if Orton and Wyatt were seen as equals. Orton feels so above Wyatt it's ridiculous. I wish this was used as a vehicle to make a star out of Harper but I'm afraid he's going to get lost.

 

"If you can't beat them, join them" is another classic wrestling angle, but didn't Orton humble The Wyatts at every opportunity?

That's another issue, I could never buy Orton as subservient to Bray since he's been portrayed as a top level guy almost since day one and Wyatt's been beaten by everyone and lucked into the title thanks to a gimmick match.

 

The other builds have been so much better it just makes the ridiculousness stand out even more. As much as I have zero need to see another Shane WM spotfest, the build up for it has been fantastic. Miz and Maryse dropping truth bombs while Cena/Nikki can only respond with variations of "NO, U" has been fantastic, Bryan's promo on how he wants to punch Miz in the face for constantly trolling him by shittily copying his moveset was fantastic, and then you have Randy out there saying he's taken Bray's magic powers away by burning the remains of his long dead sister. Every time he does a promo all I hear is "One of These Things Is Not Like the Other".
