In the absence of Satanico lately, Shocker has become the big rudo in the whole promotion. This had the fire and energy of the pre 3/17 stuff. I love Perro but its pretty clear that he is on the downswing of his career and is only really good for brawling around the ring. Him and Bestia in particular have an off sequence inside the ring. Shoker and Niebla in particular have a fun pairing in this one. Niebla is an interesting guy in CMLL at the time that has looked good in all the stuff we have seen but hasn’t been showcased to be the guy in anything either. One day I will learn the name of the mini here that always adds a little interest to the proceedings. Perro gets busted open and the rudos reign supreme as the segment ends. ***

This was a fun match. I think CMLL is still in the rebuilding period after 3/17, so they are allowed some grace time as they start building to their next peak. While it is clear Perro's best days are behind him, his legend is such that savvy wrestlers can do a lot to build a match around just that. All of the matches he's in seem enhanced tenfold just because of his presence. It reminds me a lot of Baba, Choshu and Hogan. Shocker has looked good lately. ***

Chad, I'm surprised you don't know Alushe. AKA Kemonito the CMLL mascot. This wasn't much as CMLL is finding it's way by doing a Perro Sr. last stand tour. Perro has an aura around him where even bad matches he's involved in have good moments. Like him and Bestia bleeding. Always nice to see Tinieblas Sr. He was 61 years old when this match happened and still taking bumps.

lol at Los Guapos struggling to tear off their stripper pants. This was a standard beatdown but I won't complain about Bestia brawling with Perro. Tough night at the office for the tecnicos here. They were sprawled out all over the place at the end. Los Guapos give us a Jackie Fargo strut for good measure. Perro looked much better in Japan than he did here.
