I just watched an AWA DVD that had a Martel/Santana v Gagne/Brunzell match from 07/18/82 that was breathtakingly awesome. Seriously, it reminded me more of an AJW match than anything I would have ever expected from the AWA in terms of the pacing and the offense. Brunzell catches Martel with a *nasty* high knee better than any I've ever seen from Jumbo or Race, and Santana takes a wicked bump over the top rope to the floor, which is the finish, as he and Martel lose by countout. Stiff, frenetic match with an ELECTRIC St. Paul crowd that is way more athletic in nature than anything I've ever seen in even Stampede, and a match I could see being ****1/2-***** if I saw it in full. Even the 8 minutes shown of the 30-minutes of the match were at about ****1/4 or so. So, if one of you could check with KHawk and see if he has it, or if one of you guys happen to have it complete, please let me know ASAP. Thanks!
