OK guys. I've got a $200 Amazon.com gift certificate due to having to return the WrestleMania Anthology and them not being able to replace it. I figure I'll use it to buy a DVD recorder so I can finally transfer my wrestling videos onto DVD. Can somebody give me some ideas as to a good one to buy?

Requirements:

1. Must be able to record DVD+R.

2. Should do decent at 4-hour mode so I can transfer PPVs onto one disc.

3. I'd like something where I can do chapter breaks easily enough.

4. Some of VHS stuff still has commercials on it, so I need to make sure I can pause the disc during transfer. I'd assume that's just a common feature, but I know squat-all about DVD recorders.

Help please!

Unless those PPVs were recorded on Beta, 4 hour discs will drop the VQ on almost anything you transfer. However, as long as the PPV looks decent, the VQ should be decent... just not great.

I would recommend the Panasonic converter but I think my unit only plays DVD+Rs but doesn't actually use them for conversions.

Now you've got me curious. Short of removing the DVD from the recorder and editing on the compy, are they're any DVD recorders out there that allow you to edit them from the recorder?

(yes, I'm too lazy to look it up lol)
