Brock showing up every three months for a 10 minutes suplex wankery with Heyman showing up from time to time with no issue to talk about (remember the endless "My client retired the Undertaker" boring shit after that Mania ?) in a cold product isn't exactly comparable. ;)

That promo was dope

What's the issue with the Brock matches? Have they just regressed into the suplex city thing and purposely turned him into a gimmick worker or is there some sort of physical issue that's inhibiting him from doing more? Perhaps it's just him trying to get by with the least possible effort, which is a shame because he's a really top level worker when he's engaged. In fairness, I would argue that the Wrestlemania match with Goldberg is a legit great match.

Which one? Heyman has cut about 493 "My client retired the Undertaker" promos, all of which are pretty much the same. I think Lesnar has rubbed off on Heyman (eww that sounded wrong). What I mean to say is that I think Paul Heyman has adopted Brock's attitude towards putting in an effort. Like: "Why work hard when I can get the crowd to chant along with me just by saying my name and Lesnar's name? Who needs to cut an original sounding promo?" Listening to Heyman now, it's hard to believe he's the same guy who cut some of those blistering promos during the Invasion angle.

Were I going to bet on the reason, this would be where I put my money.

Point well taken. You're right, Heyman's performance during the buildup to Brock vs. Joe was pretty damn good. I just hate the promos where it seems like he does nothing else but announce his name, and then screeches out Lesnar's name. It seems like pandering to me, like he just wants to get the crowd to go along with him.

Well, Jon Jones called out Lesnar tonight after he won his fight, so I guess this goes from a rumor to a possibility.

Thing is, if Lesnar really is interested in fighting Jones, he is going to have to resubmit to USDA testing, and finish out his suspension very soon. They're saying that UFC would want this fight to happen in December, and for that to happen, Lesnar would have to re-enter the testing pool in the next couple of weeks, and he'd probably need at least 8-10 weeks of serious training in order to be ready to fight Jones - which means no more WWE after September. Which means supersonic is right, no Lesnar at Survivor Series, if WWE would allow that. We don't know the conditions of his WWE contract, of course.

It would also mean that as far as I'm concerned, Jones vs. Lesnar might go down in history as the biggest fight between two people who appear to be genuinely unpleasant human beings. I'm not sure who I'd pull for in that fight, I don't care for either guy one bit. Kind of reminds me of Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGreggor.

Doesn't Lesnar have a 5 or 6 month suspension to serve? They wanted the November date but that doesn't seem likely.

I would love to see the fight... but Brock is going to be in trouble against a Jon Jones who has the reach and stand up skills. If Lesnar can get him down and work him one he'd be fine...

Longshot at best right now until random details get worked out.

In this situation, given all the parameters with Brock's suspension & his WWE contract, my best guess would be that the fight takes place around next summer for International Fight Week in Vegas.

I'm seeing Jones defending his title at the end of the year against whoever is next in line the Light Heavyweight division

Which probably means that he's off the juice, which probably means that he's going to submit to USDA testing, which probably means he's going to take the fight with Jones in December, which probably means the whole reason for the Fatal 4 Way at SummerSlam (aside from it being a good match-up) is so Brock can lose the title without getting pinned.

Probably.

Just did a promo on Raw where Heyman said that Lesnar would "leave WWE" if he loses the title at Summerslam. Brock looked really slimmed down.

I hope they both go. Lesnar matches are lazy suplex wankfests, and Heyman promos are lazy Lesnar wankfests. I can't think of two staler people on the roster. Goodbye and good riddance, if you ask!

I believe Lesnar vs Jones is legit. It gives a good reason for Lesnar to work September PPV but not October in Minnesota or what should really be the all-hands-on-deck for Survivor Series.

Heyman just did a promo and said if Lesnar loses at Summerslam both of them will quit WWE.

To do a throwaway line like that leads me to believe Brock is going back to UFC.

We were just talking about this in the WWE TV thread, and I will cross-post here what I said there...

Just for fun, let's review the Jon Jones file:

He's undefeated, the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, and on his way to establishing a legacy.

And then...

- He totals his car and is charged with Driving Under The Influence.

- He refuses to accept a fight against Chael Sonnen, who was stepping in at the last minute to fight after Dan Henderson got injured. Because he refuses to fight, an entire UFC show is cancelled for the first time ever and UFC 151 never happens. Not only does his refusal to fight cause an entire PPV to be cancelled, in the aftermath Jones basically comes across in the media as the ultimate spoiled athlete, entitled and self absorbed.

- Jones then spends the next couple of years adding to his spoiled and entitled reputation, as he is accused of ducking fights with both Glover Teixiera and Alex Gustafsson. Jones appears to be especially reluctant to face Gustafsson, who many people thought actually beat him the first time they fought. He also adds to his reputation as a dirty fighter for using illegal elbow strikes against Matt Hamill, and also is constantly getting warnings for poking his opponents in the eyes.

- He is accused of writing homophobic slurs on Instagram. In response, Jones claims his phone was stolen and his account was hacked

- He then tests positive for cocaine, and gives an interview implying that is one of the first times he ever took cocaine. He asks for the forgiveness of his fans, but comes across as very insincere.

- He then is involved in a hit and run, where he is involved in a car accident with a pregnant woman. He flees the scene, and drugs are found in his car. He is finally suspended for six months and stripped of his title.

- He swears he is going to stay on the straight and narrow, and then gets arrested for drag racing. Because it's smart to drive like an idiot after you've been arrested for getting in a hit and run.

- He comes back after his suspension and wins the "interim" title but then...surprise! He tests positive for steroids. He gets suspended again, this time for a year.

- He finally comes back after his year long suspension, swears he's changed etc., and wins the title.

Now he flunks another steroid test.

This guy is a total moron. He needs to be banned from the sport for life. He probably won't be, but it really doesn't matter. He's totally sullied whatever legacy he might have had, not to mention that he's literally cost himself his prime fighting years by being suspended so often and so long, and cost himself millions of dollars from missed fights and sponsorships.

They say he's looking at a minimum 2 year suspension this time, so I hope Brock didn't have his heart set on that fight.

Actually, I just read that the penalty for this would be a four year suspension, which would effectively be the end of his career for all intents and purposes. I mean, he'd only be 34 by the time the suspension was up, but I can't imagine anybody sitting out for a whole four years and then coming back to be a success.

"Out of all the things I've done bad, the thing I despise most...steroids is something I've never done. And I don't want people chalking up a misunderstanding or a tainted supplement to me being a steroid user. It's one of the most insulting things you can do to a guy who's accomplished the things I've accomplished." - Jon Jones

Jones also said once, almost verbatim, that he would be a good champion and face of the company because "You don't have to worry about a DUI or anything silly like that with me."
