Figured it was time for a new weekly TV topic.

 

Raw tonight has the next step in having every combination of the SS main event paired off somehow before the show, plus probably the next step in the Jason Jordan-Angle saga.

Bayley's injury is confirmed bad enough for her to miss Summerslam. There are reports that a #1 Contender's tournament will start tonight with two triple threat matches: Emma vs Sasha vs Alicia & Nia vs Dana vs Mickie.

 

Brock Lesnar & Paul Heyman are at the show & rumored to be on Miz TV.

 

Roman Reigns vs Braun Strowman in a Last Man Standing match.

 

Scott Dawson is reportedly injured with a ruptured bicep & with that it looks The Revival will be removed from the current secondary tag team program also involving the Hardyz & The Club.

Man, if it wasn't for bad luck The Revival would have no luck at all.

 

I think Raw and Smackdown are both in Toronto this week. I wonder how the crowds will be, Toronto crowds are notoriously weird when it comes to who they boo and cheer.

They turned on Jordan too, but that seemed like the intent since they had him face a "local competitor" as the WWE calls enhancement talent.

JJ is DOA regardless of the country. Its best for WWE to play up the 'You Hate Me Because of Who I Am!' angle. It would essentially steal from the Angle 2000 playbook minus the obvious charisma. Crazier things have worked.

Jordan has to turn. But turning .Angle kinda messes up the dynamic of the show with another heel authority figure. I guess they could have Jordan play on Angle's heart strings to get title shots and the like

Making it obvious to everyone but dad that he's being used and that his guilt is being manipulated to service JJ's career would be an interesting way to play it, but that requires a patience and knowledge of human nature that doesn't surface on WWE TV all that often. It does from time to time, though.

So who was involved in putting together the main event watched Okada/Evil?

Roman/Braun is the best WWE rivalry since....? Cena/Punk? and hell I think I like the hoss battles better.

JJ feels like a guy who is going to hurt himself doing his own offense. That running spear in the corner looked like something that will squish all his vertebrae together.

Am I the only one who thinks it sucks that Jordan will be at SummerSlam but Gable (probably) won't be?

 

At this point, I wouldn't mind an underdog team of Gable and Enzo. (Enzo would have to switch brands, but after being thrown off the bus by Roman Reigns, a change of scenery is probably best for all involved.)

I'm not too worried about Jordan not getting over at this stage because the end goal is likely him not really being Kurt's son and it being a ruse by Steph and Hunter to fuck with Kurt because reasons so his future is probably as a heel anyway.

Nia Jax finally impressed me! Great performance in that triple threat.

She's starting to get worrisome from the standpoint of hurting other people. The Bayley injury was inexcusable, even if you say the initial spot was just a shit happens moment, there's no way they should have done the chickenwing slam spot knowing she was hurt. Then this week she nearly decapitated Dana by nailing her so close to the ropes that her head ping ponged off them.

So we are 100% sure Bayley's injury is a shoot? I mean the selling & the fact Nia kept on the injured arm screamed Work to me.

 

BEST Roman VS BRAUN match? I need to watch them all again. Ambulance match was my least favorite. I think May was my favorite until this one.

So rovert on twitter seemed to be implying today that the plan is Ronda v Steph. After saying Ronda v Charlotte a few weeks ago

LOL @ Jinder being squashed. I usually roll my eyes at people who call a heel losing "a squash", but Jinder got two cutoffs in and that's it. It was all Orton, all the time. Orton has been fantastic offensively in this feud. Having fun and kicking ass. Great energy and urgency. Jinder is fucking useless. This made me very happy.

Also, I don't really understand this stuff, but I've seen some trained workers argue on Twitter that Nia Jax should not be held responsible for Bayley's injury. Vinny Massaro being one.

Well Vinny Massaro also told me on twitter that the "Manny makes Invader 3 puke blood" angle was a shoot because that's what Manny told him so he's not a great source. From what I've read Bayley was injured by the way she hit the rope when she rolled out of the ring and not by anything Nia Jax did though.
