I think the Spurs will get to the finals without too much trouble. I just can't see them, or anyone, beating the Pistons 4 out of 7.

Credit to the Bulls for keeping this series close despite the one-sided officiating.

Clippers are looking really good early, both offensively and defensively.

I agree that the Pistons look like absolute monsters. With that said, the Spurs were only one game behind them in the standings. Also, i don't like to predict the finals before it actually happens because one team is always one injury away from not making it. God forbid, if the Spurs lost Tony Parker or Tim Duncan for the rest of the playoffs, they will not win the championship. Same can be said for the Pistons if they were to lose Ben Wallace or Chauncey Billups.

I could actually see the Clippers challenge the Spurs.

...

Yeah, I went there.

I don't know if I'd go there, but after watching tonight, I think the possibility of an upset over Phoenix is a lot greater than I had thought.

Wizards even it up at 1, as the big 3 of Arenas/Jamison/Butler combine for 71 of 89 points.

No offense, GH, but the Spurs really got lucky tonight. Not only on Barry's 3, but Duncan's moving pick that wasn't called is why Barry was so open.

comment_4859698

Whatever. Just watched that "moving pick". That was Bibby tripping over Duncan's feet.

Bad calls happen in every game. Lucky shots fall. I could count about 8 calls where Tim was hacked where they didn't call it yet showed it on the replay.

So... break down that Pacers game.

Also, I hope Jalen Rose is never allowed to interview a player after a game again.

After seeing the whole play again, you were right about the screen...I just saw Duncan setting a screen and moving with Bibby, so I assumed it was a moving screen. But Bibby was coming in pretty hard.

I could have brought up Artest's absence and the fact that the Kings' best player tonight couldn't play in the overtime, too, but I was trying to put it nicely, so you wouldn't get all defensive and start taking immature potshots at my team. Oh well, can't please everyone, I guess.

comment_4859789

Their was no need to bring up Artest's absence because I already did. Of course the Spurs should have owned this game. I never said they shouldn't have. In fact, if you scroll up the screen I even gave the Kings credit. They played thier asses off. Then again, it was with Artest that the Spurs blew them out.

As for the Pacers game, that is your expertise. If you can't handle a little "immature" ribbing... um, sorry.

I didn't sense any sarcasm in your post. If you were being sarcastic, then I apologize.

And for what it's worth, I don't have anything against the Spurs, I actually quite like them. The only guy I don't like on the Spurs is Bruce Bowen.

comment_4859844

Ugh, heartbreaker there with the Barry 3. I don't care if it bounced 8 times before it went in, the Kings should've guarded against the 3 at all costs. Major defensive error. They should've let the Spurs try to drive one on one and play the free throw game. The look the Maloofs had on the sidelines told me Adelman's days are numbered in Sac.

I don't consider the Duncan screen a bad call at all. It's the playoffs and it was crunch time. Shit like that happens. I remember back in '93 when the Bulls played the Knicks and Starks drove baseline in game 2 and dunked on Jordan and Horace Grant. What people don't ever remember seeing is Patrick Ewing wiping BJ Armstrong out completely to set Starks up for the drive. I chuck that up to it being the playoffs and screens like that are going to not get called in a close game.

It was on ESPN2, and I just happened to catch the last play switching channels back and forth. Great finish.
