May 17, 200619 yr Author comment_4950084 If you take the All-NBA first team and replace Dirk with someone like Duncan or Garnett, that's the team we should've sent to the olympics. People complaining about having to do other things, or their feet hurting, or whatever...look what happened. I guess Nash isn't American either...
May 17, 200619 yr comment_4950309 Sending the 2005-2006 NYC Knicks to the Olympics was a bad bad idea.
May 18, 200619 yr comment_4952585 I give up on trying to predict the Spurs-Dallas series. 4 games coming down to the last play of regulation. I want a Game 7 obviously, but even if we get it, who knows what will happen? The Detroit-Cleveland series has been the real eye opener for me. THere is no way in hell I would have predicted Cleveland up in the series after 5 games.
May 18, 200619 yr comment_4952776 I had Gasol ahead of Anthony, and Tony Parker ahead of Iverson, but other than that, I had all the other guys, just some of them on different teams. Like Shaq, for example. Him on the first team is your typical reputation vote.
May 18, 200619 yr comment_4954232 Looks like goodhelmet's boys get a huge break with Jason Terry suspended for Game 6 for punching Michael Finley. I was wondering what the fracas was with Finley and Terry at the end of that game last night. Guess we found out what it was.
May 19, 200619 yr comment_4955696 Here were my teams: 1st C: Yao Ming F: Dirk Nowitzki F: LeBron James G: Steve Nash G: Kobe Bryant 2nd C: Ben Wallace F: Elton Brand F: Pau Gasol G: Dwyane Wade G: Chauncey Billups 3rd C: Shaquille O'Neal F: Tim Duncan F: Shawn Marion G: Gilbert Arenas G: Tony Parker Gasol, Marion, and Duncan are all pretty much interchangeable, as are Gilbert and Chauncey, IMO.

May 19, 200619 yr comment_4958206 I would put Ben Wallace on 1st Team and Shaq on 2nd team. Agreed. I'm a huge Shaq homer, but he was hurt a lot this year and not as big a factor as last year.
May 20, 200619 yr comment_4958826 I was just arguing with a co-worker today about Kevin Garnett's exclusion from ANY of the All-NBA teams. To me, that's crazy. While Minnesota wasn't winning, KG was his usual amazing self (21.8ppg/12.7rpg) while Shawn Marion averaged 21.8/11.8. We flat-out just called the 3rd team the "No Respect" team with guys like A.I., Arenas and 'Melo on there. How can Alfdogg put YAO on his FIRST team? That's insane. Anyway, yeah, Detroit is giving me fits, too. I've already told everyone but I'm all prepared to start the OMG~! Lebron Backlash in earnest. Not only did he get away with murder during the Washington series but it seems as if the NBA exists only to promote this guy in some sort of under-the-table, sweetheart deal with Nike. If I have to watch that "We Are All Witnesses" cult-like ad during every commercial break like this was the Finals and 'Bron was MJ in '93, I'm gonna puke. He may wear #23 but he's not the Second Coming. He is no basketball messiah (even though Nike's ads a few years ago blasphemously had people literally HOOPING and hollering in CHURCH and catching the Holy Ghost when the ball was passed to them...they really should've been ashamed of themselves for that one. I forgive them, though, because the Chamber of Fear ad was so fuckin' dope!). I'm tired of him already and I want to see his birth certificate. I know that nigga at least 30.
May 20, 200619 yr comment_4958943 How can Alfdogg put YAO on his FIRST team? That's insane. He had better numbers than Shaq or Wallace, without the star-laden supporting casts to take the pressure off of him like the other two had. I can understand having Ben first team, but Yao was easily better than Shaq was this year.
May 20, 200619 yr comment_4958980 I agree on Shaq being garbage this year. Me and my friends talked about him, too. And I think he only played 56 games. But being better than Shaq this season doesn't land you on the All-NBA FIRST team. I feel like the only reason Yao put up better numbers after this season's halfway point is because he had to. He got way more touches with McGrady out.
May 20, 200619 yr comment_4959338 Detroit lucked out there at the end. Their offensive boards and the Cavs' stupidity on their last possession sealed it. Even then, I thought that last tip was going to fall. Phew. Dallas looked good most of the night, but they were flat most of the second half and down the stretch, staying alive by the Spurs' ability to throw down the final blow. I say that series is going to the Spurs. I'd like Dallas to win, but with home court, the momentum and playoff experience, the Mavs are in trouble.
May 20, 200619 yr comment_4961637 Whatever the outcome of CLE/DET, I think it's quite fair to say that the King is here.
May 21, 200619 yr Author comment_4962409 Fuck the King. It's apparent that Stern has been looking for the "new Jordan" ever since Michael retired. It looked like it was going to be Kobe but then the Colorado rape situation came about and they attempted to dodge all the bad publicity that would've came with keeping him as the poster child. LeBron is just filling the void and doing a damn good job of it I might add.
May 21, 200619 yr Author comment_4962899 'Cause he made a lot of money for the league and it's still a business.
May 21, 200619 yr comment_4963039 Honestly, there hasn't been one point in this entire series that's made me buy that the Cavs will eliminate the Pistons. Even after they went down 3-2, I thought if they came back against the Heat last year and the Nets the year before, they shouldn't have too much trouble coming back from this. And I knew that unless they fell down by like 15 or 20 last night, they'd find a way to win. I still won't believe they can be beat by the Cavs until the Cavs actually win Game 7.
May 21, 200619 yr comment_4966309 Yeah I didn't think the Pistons would lose, but I did want to see LeBron vs. Wade. That game they hada few months back was fantastic.
