May 23, 200619 yr comment_4973710 So far, the Spurs are taking one on the chin here in the 1st half. The Spurs lost the game in the final seconds, again. Who would of thought that Diop of all people would be the hero for the Mavs?
May 23, 200619 yr comment_4974175 It just seems the Spurs can't repeat as champs. However, they still have the 3 headed nucleus of Duncan-Parker-Ginobili and while they'll lose a lot of role players, they (the front office) know how to reload those spots with good players.
May 23, 200619 yr comment_4974809 Spurs can't repeat as champs cause they dump the whole bench during the off season for some new utility vet players. Spurs need to start looking for replacements for Horry and Rasho....you know Tayshaun Prince or Gerald Wallace would be perfect for the Spurs.
May 23, 200619 yr comment_4975106 Actually, the only people we lost from last year were Big Dog Robinson and Devin Brown. The big problem for the Spurs this year is that the bench was one of our biggest strengths and Pop made our bench disappear. You saw it last night when Avery was going ten-eleven players deep and the Mavs were the fresher team in the overtime. This year, our free agents are Finley, Nazr and Van Exel. Van Exel and Horry are retiring. I think we can convince Finley to re-sign. I would let Nazr go. We are trying to get Luis Scola out of his European contract to add another Argentine to the roster since we have his rights. One more golden ace like a Prince would be masterful esp. since Prince is young and Bowen is near the end of his career. That would be wishful thinking though.
May 23, 200619 yr comment_4975552 Prince signed a 5 year extention that kicks in after this season. Sorry GH.
May 24, 200619 yr comment_4975932 Damn Jobber getting hopes up high. Still, the Spurs are still contenders. This will also be the first time in 3 years that the Spurs All Stars will have had a break in the off-season. Here's hoping Manu and Tim sit around the house and heal those injuries. If Tony Parker can continue his awesome play and Manu and Tim are healthy for the entire season.... look out.
May 24, 200619 yr comment_4977676 Again I want to praise how good Dwyane Wade is. The score doesn't reflect the game. Apart from a little bit in the 3rd quarter, the Heat were always in control, and Haslem and Shaq were missing easy shots. It's not like the Heat played their hearts out to win.
May 26, 200619 yr comment_4985591 Pistons win Game 2, but Dick Bavetta really lived up to his name in the last minute.
June 2, 200619 yr comment_5016237 Wade is just nasty. That is all. Damn right he is. If the Heat don't win game 6 then I don't think they will make the finals. I can't see them beating the Pistons in a game 7. As for tonight, I'm hoping Suns, but after having a bad game, I'm thinking Dirk will be looking to torch the Suns' defence.
June 2, 200619 yr comment_5016905 Dirk finishes with 50 and 11 boards. Finally, an MVP chant I can agree with.
June 2, 200619 yr comment_5017115 I don't see Thomas blowing any kisses now. Tim Thomas doing the YAYO DANCE after every three-pointer is the greatest thing EVER.
June 3, 200619 yr comment_5020223 No one in the league has a better 15 to 17 jumper than Wade. Nobody.
June 3, 200619 yr comment_5020549 I don't see Thomas blowing any kisses now.Tim Thomas doing the YAYO DANCE after every three-pointer is the greatest thing EVER. Blowing kisses? You'd be surprised how many people don't know what Tim Thomas is doing when he hits shots. I had a guy today tell me he was blowing his hand off, like it was hot. No. He was "dumbing out" and it was totally the best thing about his 26 point performance. At least for me. As far as no one in the league having a better 15-17 footer than Wade, come on. The kid is nice, I'll give him that but you might be ridin' his nuts a bit too hard. It's bad enough they tried to compare his game tonight to MJ's Game 5 "flu" game against Utah in THE FINALS. The tendency of the media and journalists to overhype things and attempt to make us accept whatever hyperbole they offer is really starting to irk me.
June 3, 200619 yr comment_5020568 As far as no one in the league having a better 15-17 footer than Wade, come on. Name someone that does. Please do.
June 3, 200619 yr comment_5020582 Nowitzki. In fact, based on the last 2 series, I would say no one is better from 8-25 ft.
June 3, 200619 yr comment_5021551 Consistently, you're a nut-hugger of whoever the latest NBA video package says is hot. Lebron, McGrady...the lovefest with highlight reels never ends.
June 3, 200619 yr comment_5021980 Right. Being that you KNOW me and everything that makes so much sense.
June 4, 200619 yr comment_5024779 Must be an East-West thing because I am going for Miami in this one and they are such a hard team to root for but I HATE Mark Cuban.
June 4, 200619 yr comment_5024890 I'm rooting for Miami simply because Dallas fans make me hate life.
June 4, 200619 yr comment_5025107 From NBA.com: E-mail Raja Bell. He'll answer mail as long as the Suns remain in the playoffs. If you didn't email him before today, you missed your chance.
