After being unemployed for all of 2006, I landed a job starting May 1 at a call center.

 

Flexible hours, decent pay (with the chance of incentives to make it even better), not as close to my house as I'd like, but that's nitpicking.

 

So, yay me for getting off the government teat.

Congrats man. I have felt your pain through this process, so I am very happy to hear this. I can only imagine what a relief it must be to land a job. Best of luck bud.

It's funny, the guy I interviewed with (and apparently will be my boss) looked very much like a skinny D-Von Dudley, especially when he mentioned he's also a minister.

 

I had to fight the urge to yell "OH MY BROTHA, TESTIFYYYYY!!" when he told me he was offering me the job.

I'm thinking that it was good that you fought that urge. However, maybe you should have pushed him real hard, and screamed "GET THE TABLES!!!"

Finally, I can add my name to the ranks of the employed again.

 

After five months of hell, 200 resumes sent out, and 23 different interviews, I landed a good job. I start Monday morning.

 

If I NEVER have to go through this kind of experience again, it will be too soon. This SUCKED.

 

If you ever catch me complaining about my job, you have my permission to shoot me.
