Posted December 10, 20177 yr comment_5823538 Setting up a separate thread so we can discuss and post reactions on the draft, keeping the draft thread exclusively for picks. So .... let's get the show on the road, shall we?
December 10, 20177 yr comment_5823543 Before the draft gets started, I am open to trades for my picks. The Rock n Roll Express could be had.
December 10, 20177 yr comment_5823548 Pick has been made and the ball is rolling. Slept in till 8 today fellas...sorry for the tardiness
December 10, 20177 yr Author comment_5823552 If one is going for a rookie, Steiner is an excellent pick. I think he definitely showed strong promise early on in his career, and is an excellent character to work with.
December 10, 20177 yr comment_5823555 He has a look for sure and some skills. I looked back at the NCAA wrestling tournaments from this time and he and his brother didn't compete very well... Dr. Death though did some serious work.
December 10, 20177 yr comment_5823604 Thus far, some logical choices through the board. Got a couple options myself so don't know exactly where I'll go.
December 10, 20177 yr comment_5823605 That was the only guy I wanted. Everything else is just picking up the right guys for what i want to do.
December 10, 20177 yr comment_5823613 Okay, I fucked up... Jeff Sword and Doug Vines were shipped from SMW to MACW for Saggs and Knobbs... they have now been added to the draft. Apologies guys.
December 10, 20177 yr comment_5823638 GAAAAAH, rain, I hate you for picking Doug Furnas! All joking aside, pretty hopeful my master plan can come to fruition anyway!
December 10, 20177 yr comment_5823645 At some point I had dropped Chris Colt for Hercules Ayala. Not that I imagine anyone is really picking Hercules Ayala.
December 11, 20177 yr Author comment_5823672 I dare say, I wasn't expecting the draft to move this quickly. I was figuring it would go for about 2 - 3 days. As it stands, we have a fair shot at it being completed tonight, or at least tomorrow morning. Clearly, moving it up one day was a good idea.
December 11, 20177 yr Author comment_5823682 Glad to see big Jack go to a good home, I drafted him last year as a rookie.
December 11, 20177 yr Author comment_5823740 Is WWC going to draft Steve Pardee? Viewers want to know!
December 11, 20177 yr Author comment_5823749 All good, Marty Jones works well in the same spot I was looking at.
December 11, 20177 yr Author comment_5823756 Just a case of me putting off drafting somebody because I keep feeling he will be available next round , then they get picked right before I am finally going to grab them. There's always one. Overall, very happy with my draft, spent a lot (traded some pretty big ticket people and will have to cut more than I anticipated to make the roster cap) but managing to avoid buyer's remorse. Ron Simmons wound up being the big one that got away but truth to tell, I pegged Simmons, Vader and Pillman as my top three dream picks and I figured I would be most likely to get one of them, if that. (Very surprised to be able to land Pillman, so there is a plus). Had a fun angle planned to introduce a bunch of the top rookies and close to everyone I wanted for it ended up on my roster (again, with Pillman now a substitute for Simmons). Going to end up losing a bunch of Calgary guys, so was able to pick up a few to take their place. Good times.
December 11, 20177 yr comment_5823760 I got two tag teams that had good runs in PR and the one native guy in the draft, TNT. I'm gonna call it a success.
December 11, 20177 yr comment_5823761 Yea I thought you scored well with Vader and can't wait to watch you build him up
December 11, 20177 yr Author comment_5823766 And that's a wrap! Still plenty of solid guys going into Free Agency, which will allow for people to shift rosters around in the future.
