don’t understand how three people left hogan off their ballots and six people left Bruno off their ballots. Savage at number one was shocking to me. I was all but sure that number one would’ve been hogan or Austin. Wow. Thx for the chance to participate in the voting. Hope PTBN does a greatest wrestler ever for Crockett

Yeah, I'm sort of baffled that guys like Hogan, Austin and Cena aren't unanimous votes. Bruno and Rock as well (though maybe in Brunos case I could see a lack of footage possibly being an issue, or not being big on the in-ring work from the era...I guess?). I'm surprised Michaels made it onto every ballot and those guys didn't. I thought for sure some folk would've left him off.

Flair being a unanimous vote and those guys missing ballots is weird. Even if you want to ding Austin for longevity, or Hogan if you're not big on him in the Workrate category, or Cena for being stale for a while and cutting corny promos, those three still feel like absolute no-brainers to me. Hulk Hogan, fer chrissakes!

Macho being number 1 was a shock, but I have no problems with the top ten.

My top ten:

1. Stone Cold

2. Hulk Hogan

3. Macho Man

4. John Cena

5. Eddie Guerrero

6. Bret Hart

7. Daniel Bryan

8. CM Punk

9. Shawn Michaels

10. Rey Mysterio

Jericho I had at 11, Rock at 12, Bruno at 14 (More of a footage thing. I didn't see enough, but I loved enough to have him this high), Taker at 17

Austin at 1 over Hogan probably because I was around 10/11 during the height of Austin 3:16 and was too young for Hulkamania.

I'm surprised people are shocked by Savage at 1 because I think it was fairly obvious he was the likely winner if you closely followed Facebook conversations and the podcasts that have come out. To be totally blunt you'd be hard pressed to construct a criteria that was more favorable to Savage as the lack of emphasis/rejection of drawing power/stardom really gave people an out to rate Savage - a guy who was never really the true promotion number one - over guys like Cena, Hogan, Bruno and Austin. I disagree with Savage finishing first for that reason (i.e if he was never really the top guy in the company, I can't buy him as the top guy in promotion history), but I recognized it as the likely outcome so early on that I would have been stunned to see him defeated. Austin coming so close was a surprise

Having only tangentially followed along with this through a couple of podcasts and the Facebook group, Id love to hear you and a couple of others expand your thoughts on the results/talk through your own ballots

I'm down to the bottom twenty in Dylan and Devon's GWWE podcast. I did want to mention now that while the podcast is very much the Dylan show (through no fault of Devon's as Dylan just has a more complete list), the most must-listen thing on there is Devon's awesome defense of the Miz. Excellent stuff and well worth seeking out. Someone should isolate that two minutes and toss it on youtube or something.

Sorry, Dylan. If you divorce yourself from the criteria, I can see his rankings, objectively. But anytime I venture towards subjectivity with the categories, I just struggle with John Cena as the top ranking. (Some of that might be subjective because I hate the promos, the character, the no-selling of losses (which was acknowledged) as well as how Cena would just transparently leach onto guys to stay positioned strong and positioned as a nice (which isn't all vince if you evaluate things, or at least can't be claimed as uniquely vince.( And the more I struggle with credibly separating Bruno with Cena, or ranking Pedro as low as he did. It felt like picking and choosing with drawing to me as a hidden category. And if you don't include drawing and damage, I also don't see the damage argument as being that fatal vs. HHH, but not potentially dinging Hogan too (even if not quite as much). For instance,, undercutting Warrior, not prolonging the hot Savage feud even longer, wm8 needing to eclipse the world title, the WM9 bs, etc.
