Posted May 7, 20187 yr comment_5847947 Had to start the thread early because I just saw this: THE FUCK ARE THEY DOING?
May 7, 20187 yr comment_5847949 This is a rib. This whole promotion has apparently turned into a huge rib. WCW 2000 have nothing on them anymore.
May 7, 20187 yr comment_5847954 Laughter is the only acceptable response to this, there is no point trying to analyse this.
May 7, 20187 yr comment_5847955 If you view it as a comedy, it's hilarious. Anything else, and it's incredibly draining.
May 7, 20187 yr Author comment_5847978 Also: did Road Dogg forgot Almas and Sanity are on SD, or he just does not care?
May 7, 20187 yr comment_5848010 Is there a worse announcer, take experience level into it please, than Coach?
May 7, 20187 yr Author comment_5848030 Is there a worse announcer, take experience level into it please, than Coach? I'd go with Ranallo, although Coach's unwillingness to actually watch the fucking product and know what he's talking about at least on a surface level is indeed very annoying.
May 7, 20187 yr Author comment_5848041 We are getting two MitB qualifying matches tonight: Sasha Banks vs Ruby Riot vs Ember Moon (holy shit) Finn Balor vs Sami Zayn vs Roman Reigns (uhh okay)
May 7, 20187 yr comment_5848053 Mauro irritates the shit out of me, especially on longer shows, with his constant shower of shitty references. But there's not a day of the week in which I'd ever think about ranking him below Coach - who is absolute bottom of the barrel for me. Honest to god, I'd take Otunga's 2016 run at the booth over what we're getting out of Coach at the moment. There's exactly zero exaggeration in that statement.
May 7, 20187 yr Author comment_5848054 Otunga's role in 2016 was actually funny. I would go as far as say that he and JBL carried Mauro to his best days ever. Him saying that Miz's life was just a bootleg version of his is an all-time burn to me.
May 7, 20187 yr comment_5848056 I thought he was overlooked, for sure. Otunga's reactions to the stiffer strikes and the harder shots always put them over the top for me. Sounded like a guy you'd sit next to at the bar, watching some fights & whatnot. He was far from the worst they've had out there.
May 7, 20187 yr comment_5848059 I'm a loner here in that I like Mauro. I've never liked Coach but currently it feels like he's forcing himself into conversations. His interjections don't feel natural at all. Kevin Kelly is kind of my benchmark for a bad announcer and I think he's worse than Kelly.
May 7, 20187 yr comment_5848060 Y'all are forgetting about Heel Cole real quick. #1 and the worst. Also Striker was garbage after the first year.
May 7, 20187 yr comment_5848062 I'm a loner here in that I like Mauro. Mauro has his odd quirks and irritating habits, but he's still the best in the WWE currently by far. You generally won't get that opinion on a board that worships the rancid Booker T though.

You generally won't get that opinion on a board that worships the rancid Booker T though. I like that he actually talks like a human being. He doesn't speak WWE which makes him refreshing. He also seems to genuinely enjoy what he's watching unlike any of the main roster guys. Even Graves seems like he's been infected by Cole's shittiness.
May 7, 20187 yr comment_5848072 The difference, I think, is that Mauro is a legitimate professional commentator with decades of experience outside the wrestling bubble. The others are rasslin' guys, or in Cole's case, a former news correspondent who has no passion for what he's watching or at least can't convey it. Corey was great in NXT, but the micro-management on the main roster + much shittier commentary teams have taken their toll on him.
May 7, 20187 yr Author comment_5848074 Cole is by far the best commentator in WWE and it's not even close. The issue with him is that he's got Vince and Dunn blasting him through the headphones, but when he's on a more "natural" setting - Beast in the East, UK Tournament - his commentary shines through.

Surely that's so "once in a blue moon" that it hardly matters though? Count me with those who still like Mauro. Despite his flaws, I enjoy his enthusiasm and think it's genuine (albeit exaggerated).
